What is Ozyola's Oddments? The original OO thread was about Photoshopping silly new cards and/or items. This series is about creating and submitting items that meet the current restrictions similar to the original Aloyzo's Arsenal. Like Aloyzo, Ozyola is also quite temperamental—every month, he may have some restriction on what kind of item he’s willing to make. Still: he might fill your order! Use the form below to request his services.

(Disclaimer: Do note that this has nothing to do with BM and is only a fan-made homage for your amusement only. )

    Ozyola's Oddments #2
(closes on Sunday March 6th (2016-03-06), 12:00 UTC)

this month's restriction: "Clothes you could wear on a date" - Boots, Heavy Armor, Divine Armor or Robes only! see clarification below.

    # Order Form
Every month or so, you have a chance for Ozyola to photoshop an item of your choice. To place an order, make a post in this thread. Limit one post per player per thread. When you place your order, you must include the following information:

    1. Item Name
Ozyola does not guarantee that he will craft your item with the requested name.

    2. Item Slot (e.g. Arcane Item) (+ rarity & item level)
E.g. "Arcane Item (level 10, Rare, (minortoken)" — Ozyola won't craft your item if you do not at least specify item slot. Posting info about rarity and item level makes it easier & faster to create statistics about the submissions.

    3. Cards
Ozyola recommends that you only request cards already on existing items of the requested slot, as these enchantments are more likely to work. Dabbling is risky. Especially this time! Posting both text wiki links and images of the cards makes it easier and more pleasant for others to visualize & compare your submission.

DO NOT submit any accompanying explanation of why your item should be selected. Submit only the above 3 pieces of information. If you need to say more about your item, do it in the Smithy.
    • You do not need to preordain the level or rarity of the item you're ordering, but it is strongly recommended. @Vakaz has set up a tool to make such an endeavor easier if you feel like trying.
    • That said, items of particularly high quality may be too complex for Ozyola to craft.
(If your submission would be level 21+, it is unlikely to be selected.)
    • Also, Ozyola isn't interested in crafting existing items, so please make sure your idea doesn't already exist in-game by consulting the wiki.

    # Clarification of This Month's Restrictions "Clothes you could wear on a date"
Ozyola is also a fan of of Valenzik and wants to celebrate Valenzicheans by creating Boots, Heavy Armor, Divine Armor or Robes that you could wear on a date. Read carefully the contest guidelines.
    • Submit one of the four allowed item types: Boots, Heavy Armor, Divine Armor or Robes. No items for other slots will be accepted under any conditions.
    • The challenge this month is to design "clothes you could wear on a date". Assume a role: Are you...
      • a pick-up artist
      • a (desperate) single participating on speed dating
      • an adventurous person on a blind date
      • cheating partner sneaking under false identity
      • or someone else that found him/herself on a date (gone wrong)?
    • KEEP IT SAFE! Always wear a Buckler Of Protection and don't post vulgar, pornographic, discriminating or otherwise harmful content. Mild sexual innuendos might be tolerated, but think twice before posting and refresh your memory by reading what Terms of Service has to say about abuse and harassment, if you're unsure.
    • This month is all about the submission theme, I don't care whether the item is under- or over-powered. But keep these guidelines in mind:
      • Item rarity: Is your piece of clothing a legendary haute couture suit, common and cheap skirt or something in between? Pay attention to the item rarity when naming your submission.
      • Monster cards are allowed, but use those only if it really fits your theme.
      • You can use cards that have not yet been printed on that item type. Use your best judgement and refer to cards.csv's slots column or ask on the discussion thread, if you're unsure.
      • Even though you can use monster cards etc., boots should still feel like boots and not be a fire-breathing fortress from other dimension. Try to follow other vague item design rules listed in Item Creation Design Discussion.
    • Have fun! :)

    # Clarification of Number of Winners
Ozyola will Photoshop TWO winning items, see below:

I, Ozyola, will pick one winner. I also create community choice poll, where you can vote for your favorite item. A maximum of ten (10) submissions (that follow the contest restrictions) with most likes will get selected to the community poll, so your likes count too!

    # Rewards
THERE IS NO IN-GAME PRIZES! This in only social forum game / event.

What you get if Ozyola accepts your order:
    • a Photoshopped version of your item, delivered straight to the forums!
    • I will also try to make a short video, where I talk about my favorites and/or other submissions.
    • I will also try to write a short feedback for every submission.

    # Questions
    Q:
Can I submit more than one item?
A: If you want to submit multiple ideas, you have to do it over multiple threads/months. Only one submission per thread!

Q: I submitted an item last month. Can I submit it again?
A: Yes, but be warned that it might not be worthy of Ozyola's consideration if it hasn't already been selected. Also, different threads may have different restrictions, so one thread's submission may not qualify the next.

    Q: When do submissions close?
A: My plan is to keep Ozyola's Oddments iteration a bit shorter than AA. Submissions for OO #2 will close on Sunday 6th, March 12:00 UTC.

Q: Is there anything that will instantly disqualify my item?
A: Follow the month's design restrictions and you'll be fine. If you'd rather try to be silly/funny or just want to break the rules (instead of maybe just slightly bending them), consider using the original Ozyola's Oddments: Custom Item Photoshopping! thread instead.

Other questions? Suggestions for upcoming themes, collaboration offers for videos, etc. Ask / post in the discussion thread.

Please only post in this thread to submit an order. Thanks!

I had to google Catfish (if you don’t know, start from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catfish_(film) & http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=catfish)

So Swap is a spot on, but I don’t know about the rest. Does Savage Curse represent how you lose part of your identity (in this case cards)? And what about Altruism, I have no idea. Two of three cards are for priests, so Divine Armor seems like the most suitable item type. However, this doesn’t have any armor cards and since Swap is the most essential card here, I would have gone for Robes.

Maybe something like Swap, Adaptable & Mimetic Crown / Mimetic Armor for lvl 19 / 18 Legendary / Epic Robes would have worked better, at least it would’ve been closer to existing robes and armors in general.

All in all, nice concept, but I find the execution a bit lacking.

I like this. Unusually Hairy and uncommon rarity work quite well together, as do the two different cards and their illustrations. Two Resistant Hides for minor token seems quite powerful, at least on paper.

I’m not sure I would wear this on date, but the assignment wasn’t to create clothes for successful dates. At least the unusual hairiness might draw attention, create something to talk about and help break the ice. :)

    3. 1x Ill-fitting Armor, 1x Dropped Guard, 1x Fright

    Level 1 Common, Tokenless.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    [IMG] Feedback:
I laughed out loud, when I saw this. Very clever, but quite sad at the same time. Maybe you’ve gained a few pounds since your last date and start to panic when your favorite suit/dress/whatever doesn’t fit anymore.

Ill-fitting Armor isn’t printed on Robes, but Cards.csv permits slotting it on them so it’s a fair game. Fright and Dropped Guard are printed only on Robes so far, but it should be ok for Heavy / Divine Armors as well, so choosing the item type for Wardrobe Malfunction should be purely thematic.

Maybe wizards are the safest bet for gaining weight, since they don’t usually do much physical training or maybe they are the “I don’t have anything to wear” kind of class. It might just be that ⅔ cards are already printed on Robes. Whatever the reason, the theme and execution fits really well. Good job!

    [IMG] Feedback:
Oh my… I don’t think the item name refers to bedside table. All the cards fit quite well. Thanks to Pyrious, Penetrating Lunge’s flavor text is never the same.

Vulnerable is a nice addition, maybe the random no strings attached partner manages to steal your heart or maybe being Vulnerable is the reason you’re not looking further relations in the first place. Whatever the reasons for such behaviour, be sure to bring a wingman with Purges, if you draw the handicap before your shiny armor.

    [IMG] Feedback:
The alliteration and theme reminds me of The Great Gatsby. Not sure if it’s intended but I like it. The mix of cards is unique and interesting, this would be quite strong armor for those handicap quests.

If this submission really refers to Gatsby, I would have liked this armor better if it would’ve been Epic, since Rare is not that rare in CH. Too bad there are not that many rare armor cards, so maybe Inspiring Armor is the most fitting choice after all.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] Feedback:
This is really shiny and attractive submission. Legendary rarity is really fitting for the overall theme. Barge brings a nice twist to the theme. For a less violent version, the attack could’ve been replaced with Ooze Barge or Ooze Shove. Maybe zero damage attack would’ve been closer to The Ladykillers movie?

Overall, really slick and good submission. :)

    [IMG] Feedback:
This was my second favorite Boots submission (after DupleX’s Too Tall Heels). While being thematic, these are also quite powerful minor token Boots.

All three cards fit in the theme of performing complex maneuvers designed to confuse an opponent, or in this case your date partner. Maybe changing that Escaping Run to Telepod Jaunt, Jump Back or one of the Dodges would add even more razzle-dazzle. Only (Skillful) Dodge is rare, so all the other replacements would lower the rarity, which would decrease the theme a bit in my opinion. Common or Uncommon rarity would decrease the glamour and attractiveness of these boots and water down the theme.

    [IMG] Feedback:
Clever mix of cards. Being tokenless and common is both really fitting and sad at the same time. Maybe Robes would’ve been more appropriate item type, since it’s usually more lightly armored and more coat- and hood-like than Heavy Armors.

Otherwise, highly thematic submission, which made me laugh and question my humor at the same time. I won’t fully endorse such theme, so this doesn’t appear on my shortlist.

Arrogant Armor, Inspiring Presence, Dropped Guard
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] Feedback:
Silk Underwear should be something that you don’t wear everyday. They give you confidence and that extra boost for important dates and other social interactions. For that reason, I think the Epic rarity of this submission is really fitting.

Inspiring Presence isn’t found on Divine Armors and Cards.csv says it probably won’t be found outside of Divine Items and Divine Weapons, but I let it slide, since it fits quite well on the overall theme. Healing Beacon would’ve been safer option on that regard, but not as fitting thematically as Inspiring Presence.

Dropped Guard adds to the theme and lower the playability, Silk Underwear should remain impractical armor of choice for the battlefield. :)

    [IMG] Feedback:
I had to do some Wikipedia research (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakimakura) for this one as well. Maybe Bamboo wife / Chikufujin would be closer to staff than this pillow? I don’t really know what that Stink Bomb does here, and I’m afraid to ask.

The handicaps are fitting and thematic, but the item type doesn’t meet the requirements, so I don’t really have anything more to add.

    [IMG] Feedback:
Air Dance is basically undercosted Scamper (or vice versa). Air Dance sure sounds more stylish than Scamper, but on the other hand, Scamper’s flavor text feels more fitting. Leap could’ve been other option for the Air Dance. Leap would increase the rarity and increase the thematic style points a bit.

Extra points for using Muscle Through (not really). That Rushing Aura would finally make Muscle Through (and Air Dance/Scamper/Leap) playable.

All in all, really nice pair of boots that help you if you’re stuck in the traffic and running late, forgot to make a reservation to the restaurant or the queue to the nightclub is outrageous.

    [IMG] Feedback:
This submission brings a smile to my face. All three cards fit the theme really well, but Charge feels a bit out of place on a Divine Armor. Dynamic Armor would’ve been safer choice regarding the item design rules, but it doesn’t feel as overenthusiastic as charging on your date.

I would really like to see an armor with Boosted Heal. Here, the item illustration is really fitting and hug’s healing capabilities are also spot-on. This would’ve been my second pick for OO #2 Divine Armor, but in the end, I felt that Silk Underwear’s Inspiring Presence was a bit more closer to item design rules than Charge on this submission.

This submission tells a similar bittersweet story as Wardrobe Malfunction. Maybe you’re a widow, that would like to feel loved again. But many years, decades even, have passed by since you last dated someone. So you feel out of place, both at home and in public places. Despite the hardships, maybe it’s time to dig that old tuxedo from the attic and see if old dogs can learn new tricks.

I really like the Solid Wood as a material, because it reminds me of clothing starch and adds to the old feel of the item.

Extra points for trying (too) hard. That card database entry for Blind Love was quite amusing. Love is magical thing, so Robes are good choice for that.

Short Perplexing Ray and in some extent, Ill-fitting Armor, fits in the “Truly, Madly, Deeply in Love” theme. Love can be exhilarating and awkward feeling at the same time.

    [IMG] Feedback:
Apparently popped collars make you cool. There’s a ton of image macros with 4-, 5-, 7- and even 23-popped-collars. It’s an arms race, really. Dieben has chosen to pop three collars, hoping that third collar’s a charm. It also fits well on a 3-card item.

All three cards convey the coolness and ideality of the shirt. On the flip side, most think that only jerks pop their collars, so I think the uncommon is where this should be. Major token cost nicely adds the exclusiveness of the shirt.

The submission uses a Rich card from 2015 April Fool’s blog post, which is quite ok.

However, I think this would’ve been more appropriate as a Divine Armor, not only because of that Lifesaving Block and only one armor card, but also because there should be something magical or divine about triple-popped-collar shirt, that can’t be found on Heavy Armors.

On the other hand, warriors might be CH’s equivalent to the types of person who pops their (multiple) collars, so the item type is justified.

All in all, really cool and attractive garment to wear on a date.

This goes to the same “EWWW…” category as Dakimakura and Unsafe “Raincoat”. Clever use of card illustrations, I give you that. But now I never look those three cards the same, so thanks for corrupting part of CH. :p

Tokenless common is where this item should be, so good job on that regard as well. I wouldn’t wear this on a date. This robe and dual wielding that Dakimakura would create quite sad hikikomori wizard.

Like Dakimakura and Slightly Slimy Sleepwear form a thematic pair, Bad Date goes well with the Annoying Womanizer boots below. Both pairs represent a type of social interaction, I don’t really want to dwell any further.

Sad but true, all three cards fit the theme well, but maybe this would’ve been better as a arcane / divine item with Bad Medicine, as others nicely suggested earlier in the discussion thread.

Nevertheless, Spiked Mail works well and is quite ok on Robes in my opinion. I also find the rarity and major token cost proper for the theme.

I echo here what I said about Bad Date. I appreciate that some of you explored a darker side of dating and human relationships, but that’s not what I want to promote on my review videos.

All three cards fit the theme well, but Entangling Roots doesn’t really belong to Boots. Changing that to another Reactive Trip or something else gets rid of the 3-stage nature of the submission, so there isn’t really a substitution for that Entangling Roots, if you want to retain the same feel and theme.

A bad dream come true, but with a nice and somewhat comforting twist. This person (and I’m not talking about Brother Tortoise, but the imaginary role / character behind this submission) seems to have some issues / traumas with dating and/or public situations in general.

All cards do what the item name says, so good job on that. Although Invisibility is a protective card in some way, this fails the item design rules a bit, by not having any armor cards (and Heavy Armors should have at least two).

Bonus points for being tokenless ultra-cycling item. :)
