Boxton's Red Pendant, Miligar's Dragon Tongue, and Luke's Iron Hand are good for burning & control mages, but Wym's Lavastaff is my favorite of the nines. Good progress, Obernoob!
I use it in Whicked Waterways, but that is it. Otherwise Ring of Appropriation is too great to pass. There was a cycle of MP maps, when I played Lukes over the Ring, but that was just because there were so many walls and you could easily lock out opponent characters for some turns. Is Wym's Fiery Bangle not strictly better than a Miligar's Dragon Tongue on a fire mage? I can get the point of the pendant, if you dont want to sacrifice to many burn spells for control spells. But even than I would prefer an item as the ring together with other fire items. But I never tried a fire mage. Maybe I should try something like what Jezterscap described here: Supply and demand.
Thx. I need some encouragement, since the progress is slowing down. I think for the progression analysis something like a + b/x will be an appropriate function. Beside that I realised, that there is also one of the best single player items on level 9. Of course no 3 card item, but there is the Wym's Lavastaff, of which I would love to have six.
Got some encouragement by finding a Skull Of Savage Iljin. That complets many of my league teams, where I was durdling with The Deadonomicon or other strange subsitutes. Beside that I got some epics of which I had already max playable and some things like Ettin's Club or Bloody Battleaxe, which reminds me I wanted to watch the new episode of Vikings, but that's it. Another not related highlight are the finding of two treasures, I did not have before. Now I am just missing Troll Cigars and Gold Thread Toupee. Here the progess as usual: Btw. I am just missing two Beech Roots for Common max usable completness.
That looks useful! I want one! You're getting there! The rng for loot is a funny beast. For some reason it seems like once it decides to give me my first copy of an item, I'll pick up a second and maybe even third copy within a day. But mostly for items that aren't terribly exciting.
So don't want one, want three! I've had the same experience with the RNG being streaky and cyclic on drops. I wish you luck on having it shift to a streak of something useful.
It is time for the next report. In fact, it should have been there yesterday, ooops, missed that. Highligths are my first Boots Of Etzicatl, my second Granwick's Shield and my second Vira's Shimmering Robe. For epics I got my third Chadwick's Clogs, my fifth Enormous Tree Branch, my seventh Fingerbone Of St. Ob, my sixth Gaudekki's Orb, my third Pacifist Trickery and my eight Silver Fir Staff. Nothing usefull, but a lot of stuff. The true highligth is my common usable completeness. I have to get used to never look again on any common item I get as loot. Another highlight is the level 8 max usable completeness of commons, uncommons and rares. Interestingly I have still 77% max usable in level 8. We have a new leader for the most rare item. Currently it is the Dendrite Ring of which I am still missing 9. Caustic Ring with 8x missing copies felt back to the second place together with Boiling Stone. After the Teak Horn of which I need 7 additional copies there is a gap to the next rarest item with 5 missing copies in the Healing Mirror, which is interestingly enough an uncommon.
*Checks* I've got a full set of those, and I'm pretty sure I've sold a few to Skarl in the past, though they're not there any more. Want me to pass over the next one I get?
You misspelled "Enormous" there, by the way. What I really wanted to ask about is how you know so easily what items you are missing, but literally as I am typing this out, I have just discovered that the collection analysis utility has a mouseover function for each bar that tells you exactly what you are missing! How did I never know about this?! And why am I still typing when there's lots of numbers to look at?
I've been going for max usable of all Rare and lower for a while. The only non-EttSC item I'm missing (and have been for a long time) is Hurricane Stone. For EttSC items I'm missing, it is pretty much just a few rare stuff. I'm max all common / uncommon. It was at my request that I got neoncat to add that check to the tracker. So yay! :-P
This is what I'm missing in total from max usable for Rare and lower (all Rare). 1x Hurricane Stone (R15) 1x Laser Halberd (R18) 2x Powermace (R19) 5x Mutation Cube (R19) 4x Warp Crystal Gun (R18) 3x Confusotron 500 (R18) 1x Kolt 45 (R19)
That is impresive. With my current speed it will take me at least four month to get to that. And I am not sure if I will be able to hold on to that speed.
I get a ton from leagues. I only really play one or two league games a day themselves, but always sign up for every league (unless I'm sleeping or something). That usually means 12 to 14 gold chests a day + 1 or 2 epic chests. Usually I'll get 1 rare I'm missing every other day or so. It will decrease as I get more and need less (like I've needed 3x Hurricane Stone for about 6 months and just recently double dipped to get 2). Doubt I'll try for max usable in Epics -- right now I'm just going for at least 3 of all of them and at least 1 of every Legendary and treasure. Been having to sell off my treasure (and rebuy when I get the cash) to get enough gold for items. Outside of being gold starved a bit I'm doing fine at my current rate. Not much left for me to do except LF once in a while to keep my gold up and just keep entering leagues.
So you keep more than one copy treasure of each treasure? I recently sold every treasure except one copy of each. I have enough gold left, but dont know why I should store it as treasures. I do the same, but currently I dont open the gold chests.
No, I was keeping one of each treasure, but had to dip into them to get the gold for some recent legendaries (like 2 more Strongarms and some other stuff). I'm down to only 2 Epic treasures (the holiday ones) and every rare and lower. I have the other treasures in Skarl that I buy and re-sell every week to keep them there. When I get extra gold I buy them from Skarl to get them back into my collection. Have basically every Legendary treasure and Epic treasure in there that I cycle once a week. Why don't you open the gold chests? Any future expansions are so far away that saving them up now is kind of a waste. I'll probably start saving them once I finish max usable for rares though.
Decided to see what my stats look like now (after some fairly good LF runs). Spoiler Yeah, I think I got a ways to go still...
I decided to not open them, because there is no rare i need anymore for any build. Yes I would get more rares for the max usable, but no, that is not worth it. For me it is more important to have all good rares as soons as possible after the next expansion. It is kind of always
Eh. There are a few Legendaries I'm still looking for. Plus saving Gold Chests puts a huge strain on gold income. Without other ways of getting 50g per league game on a regular basis I'd have to farm SP or MP. Right now my gold slowly increases due to selling items in Gold Chests and winning one or two MP games and doing LF a day. Saving those chests would kill my gold supplies.
