    Chartwell's Ring (BN)
    Peon's Prescription for Prodigious Multiplayers
Dedicated Firestorm decks haven't seen the light off day since the range 5 limit was introduced. Currently, Firestorm is just a worseArcane Burst/Ember Burst/Fireball strategy. In order to break the symmetry you need to split your wizard of from the group and put it at risk for getting attacked. You can also load your team up on Reliable Mails and Shimmering Auras. This prevents you from using Savage Curse as a buff lest you wizard goes out in a blaze of glory. The downside of burst is that your opponents can play around it forcing you to go after one character at a time. Firestorm is a little less easy to avoid but the same is true for your own positioning. I'm sure there are others that have tried to resurrect Firestorm with more insight on the build. I myself couldn't make it work even before the nerf so I haven't bothered trying. Would not purchase.

    Peon's Perspective for Penny-Pinching Singleplayers
Double Firestorm and tokenless to boot? Yes please. It is a little worse than Azgul's Orb when you need to take down a big enemy but a little better when all the mobs are at around the same health and you can use Short Perplexing Ray to remove armor, get into position, or get out of melee attack range. Either way, I wouldn't pass up on Chartwell's Ring. These legendary Firestorm items are crucial for speed farming and are very hard to come by. Highly recommend purchasing.

    The Daily Deal

    Did Peon Buy It?
Yes, but not today. Chartwell's Ring is actually my favorite arcane item for Firestorm farming. Occasionally getting rid of a pesky armor from a mob group is often more useful than dealing extra damage to a single target with Azgul's Orb. I would buy another if I was rolling in gold but I've already got enough of the legendary Firestorm items to make do.
Ask and ye shall receive. A new expansion was just what was needed to bleed dry the First National Bank of Peon. Well, that and a significant decrease in free time. I still have a rainy day fund for really cool items but things that are medium cool or replaceable items will no longer make the cut. This is about as good of a time as any for...

Peon's Purchasing Proposals for Precocious Paupers
    1. Avoid buying rares if you play regularly. Whether you're grinding in singleplayer or climbing the ranks of multiplayer, play an hour or two a day and you'll find all the rares you need. Play more than that and your Skarl's Seconds will pass for a Randimar establishment.
    2. Avoid buying epics if you are a Card Hunter addict. If Card Hunter is your main squeeze and/or you play for more than a couple hours a day, you will get more epics than you'll know what to do with. This is doubly true if you are good at leagues.
    3. If neither of the above apply to you, all rarities are fair game. Rares that I rate B make for the best purchases. In terms of increasing your odds of winning, buying 5 top tier lower rarity items is far better than a single one from the next level up. You know what, I will try to expand the ratings to other rarities too. Not sure why I haven't been doing it all along anyways. Legendaries will obviously never be rated V and I'll probably need to add a category for the downright unplayable. Or maybe just leave those unrated? I'm open to suggestions.
    4. Join leagues, especially fixed deck and Quick Draw leagues. You don't even have to play if you don't feel like it. All that stands between you and 3 guaranteed Magnificent Chests is a paltry 50 gold. However, I highly recommend you at least give it your best shot. There are likely going to be squatters in your pod just in it for the base rewards. Get a win or two and you're a favorite for upgrading to a sweet sweet Epic Chest. If you're just starting out, don't join constructed deck leagues unless you don't mind getting wrecked. You will get wrecked. You'll be a wreck with 3 Magnificent Chests but a wreck nonetheless. Trust me, it's Sharkbear infested waters and you're the honey flavored chum.
    5. Don't buy items nearly as good as their higher rarity counterparts. Kerrick's Steel Boots over Quellic's Boots. Command over Bloody Command. Apprentice Ferocity over Raging Battler. That sort of thing. You will have ample opportunities to make upgrades once you get a decent income going.
    6. Warriors are the cheapest class to make good multiplayer builds with and wizards are the most expensive. Priests can land anywhere in between though good ones tend to be on the expensive side. For singleplayer, vamp priests make for the cheapest low level melee farmers and warriors for high. However, you should strive for wizard stuff with Firestorm and Volcano items topping the list (maybe sprinkle in some Flash Of Agony to taste). Oh, and get Shielding Tokens ASAP. You're welcome.
    7. Prioritize weapons for warriors, staves for wizards, and divine items for priests. Those tend to be the most powerful and hard to substitute items in their respective classes.
    8. For the love of Bleneth, don't buy something unless you're going to use it.
    9. Seriously, really think about it. Are you really going to use that Staff Of Sparkly Sparkles? I didn't think so. PS If someone makes a Staff of Sparkly Sparkles I get 10% of the royalties.
    10. Don't sweat it if you have to pass up on that legendary you've always dreamed about. Most of us have watched a prized item slip by while staring at our empty pockets. Between overstocked Randimar's Rarities, the Daily Deals, lucky Loot Fairy pulls, and just plain old tripping over it in a random dungeon, you will most likely see it again. And when you do it is the sweetest feeling in the world.
    Epics
    Dworia's Soulstone (V)
The poor man's Bleneth's Frenzy Tome. It'll do in a pinch but it's miles worse than the real thing. I would save up and just use rares like Incense Of Roiled Air or Shuddering Relic instead.

    Fang Shield
    Wedge Shield is better.

    Lochaber Axe (N)
Rageblood Dagger is the double minor token step attack weapon of choice for most. Still a fine weapon if you really want those Nimble Strikes and can't equip Vibrant Pain.

    Notable Rares
    Blood Locket (V)
When you run Path Of Knives, you obviously want ways to force afflicted characters to move. This is most often and most easily accomplished with control spells. Blood Locket just so happens to give you both on the same item. The epic Sarigo's Rod is better if you want an additional copy of Path of Knives but that isn't always the case. You may very well want a cycling trait instead and Squeamish is one of the easiest handicaps to play around.

    Hexagon Shield (BV)
One of the best tokenless shields. I normally don't like high percentage blocks that don't put you up a card but Pushback Parry is an exception. Getting to Push a Step attacker is virtual card advantage. You either get a reprieve from further attacks or a free back attack if you want to race. Step attacks tend to be lower damage so people will often lead off with them, especially if the movement is necessary to get into attack range. If you want a shield with all purpose blocks try the epic Underdog's Shield or legendaries Eeygonnic's Shield and Snitrick's Shield instead.

    (B)est of the Best
Who need legendaries and epics when you have rares like these? This item is not only powerful but also fits in well established multiplayer or farming archetypes.

    (N)iche
This is a great item but fits in a very specific build. You should only consider purchasing if you have that particular strategy in your sights.

    (P)layable
Not the best. Not the worst. This item is simply solid all around and I believe could see play. If that isn't enough of a ringing endorsement then I don't know what is. Oh, and you can go ahead and assume that any item that falls into other categories is playable as well. I will not list things that I would not be willing to play myself.

    (U)nique
There is nothing quite like this item. Its cards or combination of cards are not found on other items of the same slot or not on other items period. If this item catches your fancy you should take a second look because you won't find anything similar elsewhere.

    (V)alue
There may be better options but this item won't bust your piggy bank.

    Ok, everyone stop.
Now take an item, like Bendolth's Pauldrons and read it out loud.
    Now again, and again.
Now ask yourself who would ever come up with this sort of item name?

In a perfect forum, all posts are on topic. This makes information easy to find. It prevents having to sift through dross, or worse, having pertinent information buried in a thread about a different topic.
I avoid such forums. No challenge, no fun.

    Ripple's Reality Robes :(
    Peon's Prescription for Prodigious Multiplayers
Whirlwind is a high risk high reward card. You might be able to push your troops toward the victory square while setting back your opponent or you could just as easily do the opposite. This makes Whirlwind more of an emergency reset button when you simply need to escape an enemy character or get them off of a particular square. Since Whirlwind Enemies is better in most cases, I only use Whirlwind when it gives access to better cards. Which brings us to Hypnotic Beacon. While it is much less risky since it only effects enemy characters, Hypnotic Beacon is still a passive card. Your opponent probably won't be able to move where they want to but they can just as easily avoid the terrain altogether. Hypnotic Beacon can also be played around through team movement cards or anything else that isn't self movement. I don't like Hypnotic Beacon enough to play the Whirlwind that comes along with it. Would not purchase.

    Peon's Perspective for Penny-Pinching Singleplayers
I like what Hypnotic Beacon does against melee mobs but only if it doesn't impact your offense. If that major token prevents you from playing a Mordecai's Staff Of Magma then forget about it. By the time you get enough major tokens where Ripple's Reality Robes won't dilute your offense, the levels include much more ranged mobs that don't care about Hypnotic Beacon. Would not purchase.

    The Daily Deal

    Did Peon Buy It?
Nope. I don't want Hypnotic Beacon, Whirlwind Enemies is significantly better, and I rarely have the major token left over for robes.

    Epics
    Ajan's Glowing Vial :(
Just a weak item all around.

    Ravenna's Incense
Would be interesting as a tokenless source of Inspiring Presence...if Skull Of Savage Iljin didn't exist. Only playable if you're running Irradiated terrain or Volcano. Even then, Cleansing Presence is very mediocre.

    Rod Of Palver Pree (V)
The poor man's Asmod's Telekinetic Chain. Extremely noteworthy as one of the few tokenless arcane items without weak cards.

    Notable Rares
    Ritual Straps (B)
Ritual Straps is one of the best tokenless divine armors. It helps keep you alive and ahead on cards with Lifesaving Block, gives you access to the incredibly useful Purging Burst, and all while allowing you to use your tokens elsewhere. If I could buy and play only one divine armor, Ritual Straps would be it. It is that good.

    (B)est of the Best
This item is the best of the best of the best. With honors. It is not only powerful but also fits in well established multiplayer or farming archetypes.

You could probably engineer a situation where this item wouldn't suck but it's more trouble than it's worth.

    :(
This item makes me sad and will probably make you sad too if you buy it. There are no circumstances where I'd consider playing this item.

christ, DD has sucked for the last few days. Jon,flax, is it too much to ask to have the daily deal sell only competitive items? Seriously, the last few days have been garbage, its disapointing to check DD and see items you never want to think about.

Are ripple's reality robes the best item in the game? No, but it can definitely see some play in control wizards, because this way you can get up to 5 hypnotic beacons (with 4 overheated mesmerizers) in one wizard with a fantastic positional disruptor and a solid armor to boot. Perhaps then you can pair it with a powerful control/cold staff (maybe will be implemented with the next AA), and wreck control havoc on the battlefield. What I'm trying to say is, stop complaining that everything sucks and learn to build competitively rather than only considering builds others have used.

Not everyone is a deck builder and not all items are worth building around. That said, a store that only stocks good items is a ridiculous idea. Card Hunter is not a traditional TCG where you can plop down a wad of cash to build whatever you want. It is more of an RPG where you have to work for and sometimes luck into the best gear, which is a big part of the appeal for a lot of players. Plus, those starving devs need some way of enticing us into parting with our hard earned money.

I've sincerely thought about using ripple's in my builds, but the allure of autowarming spacecloak has been a little too much. Maybe if it did have WWe instead of WW, I might like it a little more. Or a cone of cold.

That being said, hypnotic beacon is a card that I think has a lot of untapped potential. I have absolutely no clue how to tap that potential, but it's there. I swear.

Cancel that "work for". You can work for Rares, it is possible to work for Epics, but that takes already a lot of effort, but you can not work for legendaries. With my current speed farming build I can get a legendary per day, assuming the legendaries are equal distributed over the two levels above and two below, this makes for the Huetotl's Firebrand for example one legendary out of 1 level 14 legendary, 40 level 15 legendaries, 12 level 16 legendaries, 9 level 17 legendaries and 62 level 18 legendaries. So the chances to get a Huetotl's in my around two hour speed farming per day are around 1:124. Or in terms of the famous parry unlucky, I need 222 days of farming to be parry unlucky to not get a Hueototl's Firebrand. And I have seen many parries failing. :p

Maybe you can trap an encumbered warrior with the beacon, and flood the terrain around him with laser beacons and radioactive terrain xD

Edit: tried it without the laser beacons. It's quite OP if there's enough radiation.

I believe it can be done. I farmed the level 6 range intensely in search of The Strongarm, and indeed found one. It took 14 months. I got some other good stuff along the way, though.

Calm down folks, it was a joke. A very sarastic joke, but a joke nonetheless and if the devs want my money, they need to find me a way to pay them since I am poorer than they are. I did get first place in league today, I got double Cat'leth and really want to sell one of them but am keeping them both due to the fact that they are not commons or uncommons. Seriously though, farming is a pain. Ober, would you mind giving me your farming build and taking me along for the ride? Im more than capable of helping farm and I have nothing better to do during the weekdays. Im down to farm the low levels, like the first two missions. I want a misanthrope badly.

As I said, you should be fine in about 200 days. So I think you were pretty unlucky with the strongarm. When I farm the level 6 adventures I can get two legendaries and more per day, which increases the speed by a lot.
