Poll has opened! Sad there is a limit of 10 and I couldn't include a lot of them. Also sad my card tags didn't work.
I wouldn't use them in MP, but they're great in low level SP modules where the enemies are happy to charge into range 4 while your chars wait for the right time to Volcano. (I love that there are only two modules you can't use Volcano in.)
I actually love Mind Worm especially on these large maps which are easy to move about on. When used on enemy warriors, it gives them an excruciatingly painful choice of whether to discard blocks, armours, attacks and makes reduces their damage output prior to the real hostilities.
I dont think it deserves shaming either. Not to mention its something a priest can throw across these maps as defender's bait. Problem is what you state as its strong point, its only useful BEFORE youre inmidst hostilities. The vote reminded me, i really was disappointed every time QD made me pick scatter laser. It never did any good, at some points i even had to hurt allies to get some damage in.
Scatter Laser's pre-nerf version was as overpowered as the post-nerf version is underpowered. I wish a quality adjustment had accompanied the nerf.
Yes, everyone talking about Scatter Laser, I've seen this in chat before: realize there's a big difference between Scatter Laser and Spreading Laser.
Leap was actually supposed to be a buff from Scuttle, which was also overvalued and rarely played. Different card, same problem.
Illusory Barrier costing 7 really makes Wall Of Illusion overpriced at 6. Reducing it to 5 (or even 4) could make it playable.
Umm... Shame on these for costing too much! (Because that's the only problem with about half of them.)
That's about all that matters when it comes to whether you're OK with the card being on an item, right?
I think that's a testament to just HOW bad it really is. You might notice it's the lone bronze card in the list I posted, anyway.
Scatter laser at green quality probably takes the cake, i mean, it probably isn't even as good as arcane or ember burst rated at silver. Bad luck, even being a paper quality, surely we could increase the die reduction to 2 making it more than a check for block fodder. A few of these cards on the list are fine though. Sure enchanted mail at green might be a bit much, but at least it is high armour, i mean pair with enchanted harness and your in business. Scamper is fine just specialized for certain maps. Even penetrating bolt can have its day, i think the letdown with it is more that the staves it features on are also a little meek. Oh yeah and 3 damage for raging strike is super harsh, we could probably cut that to 2.
