Seriously though, they're usually no problem on level 1. If you meet them on a later node, then it's going to depend on your party - you might have capable fighters who can take them down in a couple of turns, or three jelly priests in which case it's sayonora, thanks for coming. Their biggest weapon in the maze of the mind, so if they're close and you can tease it out with a character with multiple movement cards, do so. Otherwise, it's not worth trying to move unless your character is on lava, or you're going to discard the movement card anyway. They have resistant hide, but they don't draw it that often. If you have a fast party, try to maneuvre somewhere that's going to give you cover from ranged mobs, then make a stand and take out the bulks.
I'd add that they've got a lot of hp but not a whole lot of damage. If I can avoid moving, they're low priority targets as they tank damage, which is generally better spent elsewhere.
