Suggestion #1: If a player disconnects from a multiplayer match, *and* causes the opponent to win on inactivity timeout, have a pop-up message appear the next time they log in explaining something to the effect that disconnecting without conceding first is rude. I wouldn't have it happen for disconnections that do not result in an inactivity timeout, or inactivity timeouts while still connected. Suggestion #2: If a player disconnects, then starts to log in to the game (has submitted username and password to the server) before the 2:30 timer expires, extend that time limit for 45 more seconds or something, so the player has a better chance to reconnect to the battle.
Suggestion #3: when you quit while playing MP, add a "resign and quit" button to the confirmation box. Because when you're raging on the game or RNG, you're often not paying much attention to resigning, so the option might benefit from being more obvious.
