EDIT: Blizzard Breath is probably too powerful to give to players, but it would still be cool to let wizards purge things.

I really like Acid Spray even if its honestly underpowered - it's a cool card. I really wish the devs implemented the Slide Back 1 to Self addition I wanted, but not all your wishes can happen. So I thought, what about a staff that would help get Acid Spray in play?

Introducing: The Tongue-Acid Item Line!

Tongue Lash is a brilliant card. It's a range 5 melee attack that triggers parries but not magical blocks, but it gets buffed as Melee damage which is considerably higher than if buffed as Magic. Additionally, you could throw out a Tongue Lash to change your opponent's facing or draw out melee blocks for your warrior. Mix that with the Terrain Battle Royale that is the core of the acid spells and a new-to-MP card Sticky Spittle which introduces the awesome Mud terrain which works well with your strategy, and you have this fairly complicated staff:

Spittle Staff (Level 20 Epic staff, 2 major tokens)
Sticky Spittle, Tongue Lash, Tongue Lash, Acid Jet, Acid Spray, Lunging Bash

Note: I valued Sticky Spittle as an Emerald card because you can potentially trap an opponent at range 8 with it, which can be really huge. I also made it a Rare card.

Here's another staff, focused on higher range:

Staff of the Angry Frog (Level 15 Epic staff, 1 major / 1 minor token)
Tongue Lash, Tongue Lash, Tongue Lash, Acid Jet, Acid Jet, Blind Rage

In this case Blind Rage is both a boon and a bane since it procs for all attacks, and wizards tend to keep attacks for the prime opportunity to use them. I know the devs are thinking twice about putting Blind Rage to things nowadays, but for wizards Blind Rage is truly both a boost and a drawback.

Here's a more melee-based staff, which is at the heart of the whole Tongue-Acid concept:

Double-edged Tongue (Level 16 Epic Staff, 1 major / 1 minor token)
Tongue Grab, Acid Jet, Acid Spray, Lunging Bash, Lunging Bash, Parry

Shimmering Aura is rated C,D,D,C. The second one(the underlined value) is the relevant one because that is the warrior's rating and this is a warriors only item. So the item should be level 12.

 

Interesting, thanks. On the other hand, I was trying to make fun or thematic items rather than ones of any particular level. Still useful to know though!
