    Because it would let you get Smoke Bomb on an Arcane Skill. I'd say it is very problematic as Smoke Bomb is extremely strong in PvP. It depends on the team comp, but if the enemy is using wizards and you have a single Smoke Bomb character, it basically lets you auto win.

    Also, Hover has weird interactions with difficult terrain + terrain attachments still. Not a huge fan of combining two things that mess it up.

    Yeah, I believe I mentioned that. ;) This is a niche item for when (A) a player wants a high density of smoke bombs, or (B) wants to use some arcane items for something other than smoke. The entire point of cycling is to get to the cards you want. If you want smoke and hover, better to have more of the cards you want than to have cyclers.
    This is what I wanted to know. I thought auto win was an exaggeration, but I guess a smoke wiz with two bejeweled elves could wreak havoc on a mage build. Are smoke builds actually common? I'd think they'd fare horribly against non-stab melee builds. I guess it would depend upon the maps and meta, but I'm just kinda curious.
    I thought about Hover's interaction with underlying terrain, and considered Dimensional Traveller instead, but damage prevention was the main thing I was after. DT works well vs. Volcano, but not the wall-to-wall slime the geomancers grow.
    What's the opinion on a (minortoken)(minortoken) smoke staff? (majortoken)(minortoken) is the cheapest available, and no major tokens are allowed on the geomancer levels.

    They aren't common because a Smoke Wizard is basically useless if the enemy is running 3 warrior or 2 warrior + 1 priest. And it isn't an auto win, but it is pretty close. A while ago neoncat came up with a build that used it (Gorillas In The Mist): http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/gorillas-in-the-mist-2-0.6295/ I tried it out a few times and it did extremely well if the enemy relied on wizards. Having more Smoke Bomb on more slots is just annoying. Really wish it would get nerfed to Duration 1 and/or Burst 1.

    As for SP? I don't really think about balance in SP -- I think more about accessibility and fun. That's why I don't really complain that much about SP stuff. My only SP complains is overly binary cards (Only Bones / Amorphous Body / Trog armor). That and maybe CoC could use a single retry since it is a bit *too* random. Besides that I don't really have problems with SP or think about it in terms of balance.

    Yes, I remember your position on this from years ago. I'd like to build some items in the peasant vein that could make things a little bit easier for new players without messing up MP balance. If a niche item is considered too weak to be playable in MP, it shouldn't hurt the balance. But then, it probably wouldn't make it through Aloyzo's either. The player base may be dominated by SP, but the forums are dominated by MP.
    I've made it through Order of the Core on nudie runs, and it isn't that hard when you understand how everything works. As for me, I'll keep shredding the geogeeks with triple vamps, but I really can't offer that as advice to new players.

    It is a fine goal to go for and I think Aloyzo items aren't just for MP. The last few I could see being used in SP. Either way, I'd stay away from Smoke Bomb. It is a problem card. There's a few others you can look up in the "balance suggestion thread" that I'd also avoid. Outside of that, go for it. Would be neat to have some new SP options (I'm looking at you drawback Martial Skill items).

    I brought a smoke wizard with double edge/violent spin elves to over 1600 if that counts for anything. I don't it'd be a problem because the only thing that would change is that I replace electroporter novice with this skill and exchange a smoke pin for an asmod's tk chain. It's far from insta-win vs wizards especially if they know to pack plenty of illusory barriers, volcanos, and burst.

    Not instant win, but extremely one sided. There isn't much you can do to counter Smoke Bomb because you don't have LoS more than 1 square in to remove it. Either way, I'd prefer we see less Smoke Bomb if possible.

    Hmmm... Seems vaguely Halloween themed... Like Casper the Friendly Ghost's favorite Arcane Skill...

    In terms of balance, I don't think there's anything wrong with this item. It's just a Smoke Ring or Smoke Pin on your Arcane Skill slot. It's not like Smoke Bomb dominates the meta. It's a nice niche card. This is a nice niche item.

    I really want to see some legendary Divine Skills in the game (Arcane Skills too, but not in this post). Unfortunately, there really are very few Rare traits that are even remotely suitable.

    Found on Blackhammer and Cardotron's Priest so there is a precedent, and would work well with certain Divine Weapons, though most melee priests would rather have Focused Healer.

    Impetuous Heal

    A very powerful card, but very likely to help your opponent as much as you. Someone once made an infinite draw deck with this, but it relied on synergy with Altruism which is only available on Divine Skills (and draw limits killed draw decks anyway).

    ... and that's about it. Festering Guts would be funny (Plagued Doctor?) but I want to see how Infected works out first.

    Looking at the other Rare boost and assist cards doesn't offer many options for the rest of the item:

    Reanimate

    This looks super powerful, but it isn't really. The card first showed up in the Geomancy league where playing it was the same as resigning. Since then they've changed it so your opponent won't get points for killing the reanimated char, but that char is still being put on a random tile with 5 health and no cards in hand.

    Not yet in the game so I can't really judge its balance, but first of all I'd like to remove the "or square" so it can't trigger on attacks that are already Bursts. While it still looks powerful, keep in mind that many divine Magic cards are things you won't always want to add Burst to (Impenetrable Nimbus, Force Field, Touch Of Death). It looks like it is discarded after triggering, but still probably a Gold quality card.

    So... what can we make with these cards?

    Hasty Healer lv 9 (minortoken)
    Impetuous Heal, Impetuous Heal, Impetuous Heal
    Simple, fast, tons of healing, but I don't think I'd play it.

    Unsubtle Healer lv 17 (minortoken)
    Crusher, Healing Beacon, Impetuous Heal
    Not really sure about this.

    Eternal Healing lv 21 (majortoken)
    Impetuous Heal, Reanimate, Reanimate
    Probably more annoying than powerful. Maybe a support priest for vamps?

    Oversized Healing lv 6 + whatever we set Enlarge to (so lv 15 if Gold) (minortoken)
    Impetuous Heal, Impetuous Heal, Enlarge
    Very hard to avoid helping your opponent with these cards.

    Because I'm tired of waiting for Asmod's to fall into my lap, and wizards don't get enough play anyway. :) Yeah I realize it's minmaxed silliness (level 8 tokenless epic) but a man can dream, eh?

    I know that feeling. For a while I tried Blasting Amulet, for another while I tried Rod Of Palver Tree. But both did not worked out.
