I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying that he didn't explicitly change it this time in response to a complaint about that issue. And every single gold league has fired 3+ pods within 10 minutes of launching as far as I know. Sometimes pods still fire toward the end of the entry period. They seem very well-played, unlike the pizza leagues. But yeah, Jon knows things we don't and hasn't said anything so we can't know
Maybe he realized the cost is too low for the prices but increasing it (by a lot) would have upset us (more) so instead leagues happen way less often now?
Idle speculation can not only be fun, but wildly inaccurate. Like starting ridiculous rumors, it's all a part of its charm. I've played a couple of gold leagues, and intend to play more as my schedule allows. I've been asking for a gold sink for too long to ignore BM's effort to provide one. I hope enough enthusiasm remains after the price goes up to fill plenty of pods. The current schedule is actually based upon using participation numbers in reference to the solunar tables (see: Field & Stream Magazine) as an overlay for the Mayan calendar. The result should enable them to decrypt the hidden Garfield cartoon in the Necronomicon, which - though unknown - is presumed to be really hilarious. TL;DR - Not a clue.
