Out of those, I'd buy Barnum's Staff and Bern's Untouchable Mail; The Staff is better than Staff Of Embers, although I prefer Staff Of A Million Embers. When it comes to Arrogant Armors, Bern's is the best; You just have to ask yourself, are you willing to spend a major token on an armor and ignore all the possible boost cards.
Hrm Barnum's Burning Bauble Barnum's Staff Bendolth's Pauldrons Bern's Untouchable Mail Brin's Storm Locket Bynzer's Black Spear Throon's Quick Laser Shield Randimar really favoring the B category this week. I have 7500 gold but I'm trying to hold out for only really useful items. I'm tempted on Barnum's Staff and Bynzer's Spear. My current MP wizard is using a Charring Staff that Barnum's should basically be a direct upgrade for.
The Throon's is tempting but I'm not sure I can justify it. Maybe if I was at 15k rather than 7.5k... and I do already have a Yvette's Buckler and 2 Kelvim's Buckler for the minor token shield slot. I'm still trying to get main roster items, can't afford to throw to much at niche/fun stuff yet.
If you're interested to try a vampire priest, IMHO Bynzer's Black Spear is the best weapon for that job.
Its a shield for a and is good vs ranged and melee, very good imo. Also good in SP in mixed enemy characters maps.
It's a nice shield but definitely not worth the money; there just are many better shields and only for fraction of the cost, especially for SP, where you know what's ahead of you.
Laser Block is good, no doubts. Is Dodge good? After the nerf almost nobody plays it AFAIK. As for Subtle Parry, it's no good at all: "block melee" only, at 3+, and there is no hope of drawing cards for it, as almost nobody plays the melee attacks for less than 5 damage.
Woah guys, dont need to gang up on me. Dont like the shield?, suit yourselves but dont forget to send me your's (if you have it)
Yvette's Buckler is definitely good enough for a . I won't try to convince anyone to spend 2500 on a Throon's, but it's a good shield. If you drop it you'll find it's the best singleplayer shield for a in scenarios that have both ranged and melee attackers. Even if there're only ranged attackers, the Subtle Parry is a paper card that is costing you nothing, and dead cards don't really matter in singleplayer unless you're doing a 1hp quest. Dodge is still quite good—remember, it's a strictly better Walk—and Subtle Parry is pretty dang great. Just because it pales before the imbalanced awe of Parry doesn't discount the fact that it's a 1-for-1 against any melee attack. I love trading my paper throwaway cards for my opponents' silver and gold attacks.
Welp. I like Throon's, but I don't think I can afford it at the moment. Thanks for all the input! Bynzer's I'm giving a few days of thought on. I don't currently have a vamp priest party but if I did it seems like a top choice. Any thoughts on Barnum's Staff? I currently run a Searing Pain and a Charring Staff on my MP mage. I want to stick with a major/minor weapon, is Barnum's good enough or should I just try and wait for another searing?
Barnum's would be an upgrade for either a burst or burn mage, but a much bigger upgrade for a dedicated burner. If you are working toward a good burn mage grab it and keep your eyes out for a White Flame. If you are going for burst you can probably wait for another Searing Pain or Blue Destruction.
Going for burst more than burn, although I am currently running a Focused Pyromancy in my skill slot. I guess I'll wait for another Searing Pain, the BD is a double major and I cant give up my akimbo Kolt 45's because reasons.
No it isn't. Having an anti-melee block when you need anti-ranged block is weak. The best shield for such scenarios is Fabrian's Shield that provides a huge card advantage. Single-player isn't a magical land where bad cards are playable. Moreover, if you're playing a ranged party, as most of us do, you don't want an anti-melee block. And you don't want an extra Walk instead of a block. Dodge is just slightly better than Walk, and that isn't good enough. Subtle Parry is bad, since you spend a token on shield only in midrange or high-level scenarios, and the enemies hit hard there. Why don't you just fix the Subtle Parry instead of pretending that it's playable? A pure anti-melee block should be more powerful. If you make it draw a card for 5 damage or less instead of 4, I swear, nobody is going to complain it's broken Please, think about it! When I'm looking at my new Blox's Unyielding Bulwark, my heart is bleeding. It could be a playable shield, if the Subtle Parry wouldn't be so hopelessly bad.
Things I don't have Aranak's Chain Web Ariston's Helmet Bniff's Boots Could also buy Captain Cedric's Boots Kelvin's Chunk Of Ice Bullseye Shield Items seems decent enough, Aranak's Chain Web looks interesting
Would pass on all but Captain Cedric's boots. These are the best team walk boots IMO. Chain harnesses are generally bad and grounding armor isn't the cream of the crop in terms of gold armor cards (look to cushion or barbed mail instead).
It's nice burning staff, but it's worse than Staff Of Million Embers. Searing Pain isn't a burning staff, it's a burst staff, as half of its cards aren't burning. If you want a good burning mage, you'll have to obtain a lot of legendary items, starting from White Flame. You should consider Bern's Untouchable Mail, though. It's the only way of build a warrior immune to radiation, which is becoming quite popular.
Could be very useful, especially for you as you don't play mages. The very best shield for SP farming, when you start playing mages there. Huge card advantage! Why not? A good mass move card can decide the game, and you have two here. Sliding Boots are generally better though, especially for a warrior.
I can't see how... I mean, Arrogant Armor seems like a great card against mages or handicap challenges in SP but that'all. If I played it on my warriors I wouldn't be able to use all of my priest's buffers like Mass Frenzy or Martyr Blessing and many others. If you run a dwarf warrior 2 major tokens are usually spent for Vibrant Pain and another one for the second weapon, so you have to choose very carefully where to spend the last one. Especially since there are lot of great tokenless boots.
