Any thoughts on 2nd Illusion, 3rd Ring Of Appropriation, Kerrick's Steel Boots and Rolf's Reliable Platemail ?
Ring of Appropriation is such a good item without the "legendary price tag". You really can't go wrong with an extra or two of those. Kerrick's Steel Boots is a good way to give your wizard plenty of Reliable Mails. And again, no "legendary price tag". I wouldn't buy Rolf's Reliable Platemail, because my warriors need all their major tokens for weapons. Therefore I prefer Sturdy Armor or True Mail. (also, no "legendary price tag")
@Kalin: I'd save the gold too, I don't consider any legendary boots must have. Most of those have a quite good epic substitute. Nasrum's Moccasins are the most noticeable upgrade with a higher token cost. Boots Of Etzicatl are also good upgrade from Tochtli Boots, but I haven't found use in multiple Brutal Charges. @Fifjunior7: I've encountered some Reaper's Scythes in Chess Madness, but I haven't found use of it. IMHO Petochl's Sword, Troll's Ire and White Katana are all better alternatives for Sundering Strike than The Tenderizer. @jlt8: Not long ago, I was encouraged to buy 2nd Illusion for Death March and 1HP quests. I've yet to use it, but I think it's nice to have it if you have the extra gold. Out of those four you listed, I'd buy the 3rd Ring Of Appropriation first. Kerrick's Steel Boots are good way to add protection to your Firestorm wizards and support characters in SP. If I don't spend all major tokens in weapons, I upgrade racial skill, shield or boots before the armour slot, so I wouldn't get Rolf's Reliable Platemail. Maybe EttSC will give better options.
0 staves in my rare shop this week. Randimar, you must be drunk. I get to decide between: My 3rd Arcade's Amber Amulet My 2nd Ekkerg's Amulet My 2nd Sander's Force Mirror My 2nd Waasker's White Cup Someone is trying to tell me to stock up on Force Cones, it seems.
Randi is still trying to get me to stock up on St. Gwendolyn's Armor and Mindless Aggression, but I'm not falling for it.
Yeah, keep your gold purses tight @gulo gulo & @Sir Veza. Randi is offering me Staff Of Embers instead of those shinier double major token ones, so no buy for me either.
I do like Staff Of Embers. Sometime you need to spend the major token on some other slot, and giving up one Ember Burst is a more than honest compromise for that. That being said though, hold onto your gold if you're saving up for something better.
Puppies in addition of kittens. The RNG God pretends demands no less Edit (fun note: to pretend is a false friend in my language. But, now that I think of it, the wording would have worked all the same as we do know the RNG cares nothing about whatever you might do to try and bribe it )
I've got enough cash this week for one legendary. So which will help me the most: Asmod's Telekinetic Chain or Bleneth's Frenzy Charm?
Tough choice, both are really good. I'd say Bleneth's Frenzy Charm is a bit more useful in SP than the Chain. In a rare case, you want to farm SP with a melee party, you want Mass Frenzy. But with wizards, it's usually just Firestorm. On higher levels, when control might become a necessary strategy, you usually can spare a token for Ring Of Appropriation. That said, I think Asmod's Telekinetic Chain gets a bit more use in MP than the Charm. Especially in certain leagues. Also the Chain is the only tokenless item with two Telekinesis, whereas Shuddering Relic at least tries to come close in terms of 1x Mass Frenzy + useful cards. I'd say the Chain wins 10 - 8, if you play MP (leagues) at least a bit.
I regularly use both these items. Frenzy can also be very good with firestorm, especially when Savage Curse is just too much. Shoving people through walls, across barriers, or into attack position is no slouch either. Not being helpful here, am I? How about two possible solutions: 1) Pick the one that suits your playstyle better. 2) Go on a speed-farming binge and buy both. My question: Is there a killer build that requires 4x Skull Of Savage Iljin? I'm (many) months behind on the meta, and I suspect one Savage Curse preist and one Unholy Wellspring priest (both with some card draw and healing or nimbus) supporting a burst wizard might be an effective build. I've never built and tested one, so I really don't know. I have 3 skulls, and a fourth in randi's. I don't want to buy the fourth unless I'd have a good use for it.
Randy is tempting me with my favourite System Shock weapon; Laser Rapier I already have two nova axes, and I'm not really sold on the utility of Laser Cutdown... but it's a laser rapier! General Jelom's Helm would be more tempting if I didn't already have two Helms of Reinforcement.
I'd never buy Laser Rapier, because I think Starknife is better and only an epic. Nova Axe seems quite good too.
