I've just decided to engage in a 'you can't save them all' maximum damage wizard team that will either eviscerate you or be eviscerated quickly. It's fun enough for now.
How many here remember when SLG ruled, and 3DC was the dark side? Cool! If more players played quick games, I'd play more MP.
It's not so fun anymore. These maps and that nimbus have been brutal to my wizards, as nothing works well. But that's life. Thankfully, my rating has tanked, and I'm seeing less of it the lower I go in elo. People in the 1100s and 1000s just want to smash each other. Refreshing from the nimbus I saw all the time at higher levels. Cannot wait for January to be over. Will be skipping months in the future with these maps as well.
Don't skip it without trying it first! It was a serious pondering—I really wonder how the next set of maps will fare.
My initial impression is that this will be a much worse month than January. The maps are just too small. Oh well. Thanks for switching them up anyway. I'll play out my last five days of membership, and then I'll see everyone in March.
^-^ This Although it is fairly obvious that the melee one is still better, at least it's something right? Now you can play around it.
It's like the nimbus spam shows up at the end of the month for some reason. Three battles in the last five where nimbus are being thrown on before someone moves at all, and multiple nimbuses in each round. Frustrating. Contrary to popular belief, it is not easy for three mages to clear off a nimbus. I'm successful perhaps 1/8 times? 1/10? And when you've got a nimbused warrior with step moves and frenzy, that's pretty much game over. Combine that with these unfriendly-to-attachments maps, and you've got a very annoying Monday of Card Hunter. I wish I could dissolve the thing off with acid. Ugh. Just trying to keep the nimbus hate alive.
I find the nimbus spam has went down considerably in popularity over the last few weeks, but then I usually play 1400+ people almost exclusively, so my perception might be a tad off. When dealing with nimbus though, remember pushing off the attachment is not the only way to deal with it. For a wiz-only build, I'd suggest tons more control spells. And yeah, warriors loaded with step attacks and other mobility tools are hard to deal with, that's very well known and probably one of the most solid/powerful tactics. Good luck
There are only so many tons of control you can pile onto 3 wizards, and I think he's close to the limit. There's a new expansion coming out. Maybe BM will add attachment removal for wizards. Even warriors can get it now. Just sayin'.
I've seen more nimbus today than I have all month. Like I said, maybe it's cyclical, I don't know. However, when I was in the 1500s and 1400s earlier this month, I was still seeing nimbus on a fairly regular basis; certainly not as much as below 1400, but it was still there. I suppose it more frustrating to me, at least, that it's so prevalent that it can be used like armor before sending someone off to battle. It doesn't seem like Nimbus should be that type of card, but then again, perhaps this is just my own opinion on what the gravity of the card is in relation to multiplayer battles. And I've gone away from control in the last couple of days, but I suppose it's time to get out all the WoW and TK I can find. Hell, WWe as well. I'm not sure how much I'll damage you, but I'll assure you that the match will take 40:00 minutes.
Have I missed something? Anyway, I don't think we need warriors removing enemy attachments off each other, that would make warrior-focused builds even scarier than they already are. While I can understand how some people could see that as a potential fix to some tangential issues with the current meta, I suspect it would break the class balance completely (and I mean, if it wasn't already, given how almost all top-performing players already play some 2/3 war kind of build). Spoiler: The Warriors wish-list Insane dgm: check high hp/armor/survivability: check mobility: check mobility + still dealing damage while being mobile: check (in the form of step attacks ofc) self-buffing: check (in the form of Blind Rage/Frenzy Aura) Do we really need to give them the (still relatively unique to priests) ability to purge attachments off?
My bad. I thought there was a weapon with Purging Strike on it, but it's only on divine weapons. But there should be. Just overprice the heck out of it, like the Nimble Srike on the staff.
