We should probably collect a few volunteers to keep the Loot Fairy's next location open and then to check on the hour. After tonight's adventure reset, I'll wait to check until the proper time. Given the hypothesis of a 25-hour cycle, perhaps we should aim to check like so on Sunday: UTC (EDT/PDT) 17:10 (13:10/10:10) - ??? , ??? 18:10 (14:10/11:10) - neoncat, ??? 19:10 (15:10/12:10) - ???, ??? 20:10 (16:10/13:10) - Igniferroque, ???
Weird... my auto-reset is definitely off—the cron job has been deleted and the script that it was running also no longer exists. Did someone manually reset everything...?
I checked the test server. Also there Loot Fairy was at Garnet Demon Portal at 17:36 UTC. UURRR(R) @ test server Looks like we can currently use also the test server for hunt verification purposes.
Not so much on the hour but between hours. If it moves on an hour, you don't want to have people having to guess if they completed the adventure at XX:59:59 or XX:00:01.
Earlier today I manually reset everything except Garnet since all the markings there were from yesterday, and in anticipation that it would need a manual reset once it was confirmed the LF had left Garnet.
I set the tracker at Garnet Demon Portal just now. I noticed all other locations had been reset at least an hour ago. A few minutes ago also Garnet had been reset and like I said, I put it back.
@Scarponi, I clarified the times so that we're checking past the hour. @Igniferroque, added to the list
Assuming the dastardly development duo actually switched the fairy over to a 25 hour rotation, what's to stop them from altering it again once we have this one figured out? Step back for a minute and consider, what reason would there be for a 25 hour rotation other than an error (which they've already had a few chances to fix but haven't) or was it possibly something to keep us all occupied? I applaud the deviousness, but perhaps we should be watching the magician's hands in this case. If the Loot Fairy's behavior is likely to continue to change, it may be worth a think about how to continue to handle it going forward. Flax's site, as awesome as it is, may get to be more bothersome for him.
To some extent I agree, it could (and probably at some point will) be changed again. After all it's a loot fairy, it's not supposed to be completely pinned down. On the other hand, it's a bit of a game that many of us like to chase. And with anything, if the game gets too frustrating, people just stop playing it. I think the devs probably are trying to make it more challenging (when they switched it to noon we figured it in 48 hours, this one has taken us quite a few days more), but they won't want to make it impossible to chase. But that's just my theory.
That was me accidentally cliking the bubble to reset it - there's apparently no way to undo (since I didn't see where it was when I clicked it). My bad. That said - I just did Garnet, and got no fairy loot chest.
Well thanks for identifying what happened, and for checking Garnet for us! Looks like the fairy is on the loose, HUNT ON!
So it looks like it's currently a 25 hour cycle. They may change it, but probably not until they go back to work Monday. I can check 19:10 UTC tomorrow.
