Not that many hovers were drawn in the video - these are new or mixed up geomancer decks, specifically designed for the Geo League. I doubt they pack as many as the sp variant, and it's possible not all of the geo chars have it at all, since they seem to be designed as various "geo classes".
I don't know the answer to your previous question, but as far as Hover goes... it's a fixed deck league. Therefore, someone can't cram their deck with hover - everyone has the same number, and I'm guessing not that many. It may give some amount of luck advantage to the person that can draw it, but I don't think it will be the main factor game after game.
I just watched the video, and only 1 Hover was drawn in the entire game, and that was in round 6. And with all the movement options, cleanses, and beneficial terrain, I don't think it will decide the game very often.
Only one drawn doesn't mean they don't all have 3. I don't know anything but what we saw in the video and I just state that to me Hover seems way too OP in the format. So, if the decks are editables then why not just removing the hover(s)? I wouldn't mind if the answer would be something like "we want something casual and fun where everybody has a chance to win". I also play poker and I can very often see very bad players winning with outrageous luck. Doesn't make it a deal breaker, I can always go play chess if I can't stand luck anymore. But if you want something kinda competitive for the leagues then imho just remove the hovers.
Because they don't think it's OP? Despite the lack of Hovers played, only one char died in that entire game. If any card is too powerful for this league, it's Muscle Through.
There's one Hover on each side. Yes, it's a powerful card in this format, but quite possibly not the most powerful and there are some counters to it - the best of which is probably Redistribute. A lot of the tests we've played of this battle are decided but victory occupation, not deaths.
