First: Great game. I liked it so much after trying it yesterday afternoon, I bought the Basic Edition. After the servers went down to address the queueing at about 5pm PST yesterday, I was unable to connect for a long time (just timed out, no queue). I'm trying again today, and after a 10 minute queue, I finally got in, only to have the game stop responding at the "Discarding Cards" phase at the end of the second round I played. I waited for about ten minutes before refreshing and ending up in the queue again. If you guys are having technical issues due to rapid growth, I understand - I'm a developer, it happens. Sometimes we can't fix these things over night. But from a customer-service perspective, not having a status updates on your blog or at least a pinned thread here in the forums for communicating to your users what's going on with the game they enjoy (and paid for) is a big screw up. The game is great, but your customer service needs work. Is this still being worked on? Is this as good as it's going to get? For those of us who bought a month of Club time, are we going to get pro-rated time back due to the game being unplayable?
They're deploying a new build shortly (no timeline - but shortly with these guys usually means, very soon - within hours or a day). According to J-Wiz this could potentially make room for a lot more players at once. In the long run they're looking into how to handle needing more servers - but that's not step 1. However, remember this is my take on his word from the mp chat rather than an actual official statement.
They do indeed have threads going. In the Announcements forum is the main one: http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/server-queue.3423 They also have the stickied threads you can see here in Support, where the recent flood of game problems went into the "Is the game stuck?" thread. Of course, in response to your prompting, they just might be able to be more efficient about it. Edit: I see that the thread I linked has been forwarded to Bugs, so folks can spot it in multiple locations.
There are currently no qeues, and they're trying out a new build they deployed last night. I have the occasional lag spike, but that only started recently - probably means the server is reaching it's limit. I know they're monitoring this closely.
