Help us track this bug down - disappearing items

    I'm on the trail of a bug that's been around for a while. I've never seen it myself, but I can see it in the logs.

    The one user report I have about this is:

    - Player lost connection.
    - Player reconnected.
    - We see the bug occur in the logs (the collection sheet in the deck builder fails to initialise).
    - User is missing all their items.

    I think what's happening is that the client is failing to load the collection inventory somehow. I don't know exactly what the user experience is though, so I'd love to hear if you think you've seen something like this.

    If you have, did you re-connect shortly before seeing it? Were all your items missing? Did the problem correct itself if you leave the deck builder and come back? Was your computer performing badly at the time? Any observations you have would help!

    This happened to me a couple of times months ago. Closing and restarting the game brought everything back. If it happens again I'll try to get a log and some specifics.

    Yeah, I saw in the logs that you had this problem. So, to be clear, after entering the deck builder, all your items were gone?

    Do you recall if you saw your party characters correctly? i.e. were the right character sheets in place on the clipboard?

    I think so. I'm sure the first character was the same, and I probably looked at the others. I think I panicked a bit when I noticed the missing gear.

    This happened to me on multiple occasions today, although it was only some of my equipped items. I was having a lot of connection issues (average of 1 disconnect/5 min) , and the items seemed to be gone from my inventory, although when I reloaded my team everything went back to normal.

    It has happened to me, but I do not remember what triggered it. I just had to reopen the store for all items to reappear, if I recall correctly. It was also only the equiped items.

    Don't know if this is related or not, but yesterday I went into a shop and there was a blank spot in the shop display: no price, no placeholder image. I think I fixed it by sorting by something else then back to price sort, which caused an item to appear there. My inventory and equipped items seemed fine.

    Just saw this happen. Steps:

    1) use flaky internet
    2) enter keep, timeout while on spinning dragon overlay
    3) "server or connection is down!" message, kicked to login (without reload)
    4) login again
    5) go to keep, many (but not all***) items are missing from active characters

    *** It looks as if the items which were still equipped had enough spares in my collection to replace the vanished equipped ones.

    Reloading the client fixes this.

    The same what neoncat wrote above. Only a fraction of equipped items vanish, for me the first time it was only two of them.
    Just by leaving the keep and returning to it solved the issue.

    It just happened to me. It happened so that I removed characters with the items from the party to the keep, and replaced it with a new one from the keep. I didn't remove the items from the guys when I removed them, so they were on the character "in the keep" so to speak. After playing a match, in the chest screen, I noticed that I got my 3rd of an item I knew I had 3 of already. When checking, all the items my removed characters were then using had disappeared.

    No connection loss or anything, I just had the bug and not much else.

    Restarting didn't bring the items back.

    How can I get my items replaced?

    I've been blocked. I never thought it would happen, and I didn't think I would find out. But now ... now I know.

    I was hoping this thread'd help..
    But it seems to mostly be a different issue.

    I know I had at least one Blazing Shortsword- more than that, I couldn't say, but I know I had one, since my tokenless party ran it just a short while ago.
    So, when the shop had a Blazing Shortsword to buy, recently, I was surprised that I couldn't find my existing one [and no NEW showed up on the item, either].

    Alright.. one missing epic isn't a big deal.

    But now I've noticed that my Dark Drewg's Mace is gone as well, and being an item I use regularly [not to mention a legendary], a bit more troubling.

    I couldn't tell you how much else I'm missing; the inventory system isn't set up to make figuring that out easy, even without my memory problems.

    And usually, I'd assume any confusions in perception to be on my end.

    But being an item I had just used, and an item I use regularly; items I've discussed and compared regularly; and so forth, I'm quite sure about this :X

    So, I dunno.

    Trying not to be bothered by it, but it's a little worrisome thinking that my items could disappear at any time :X


    (I've done all the requisite steps: Checking loadouts, switching to blank loadout, switching to multiplayer, checking second-hand shop, waiting several days to see if the items return; nothing came of it.)

    Dark Drewg's is still in your inventory (I just checked). My guess is always 'on an inactive character.' But if, as you say, you've looked everywhere for it, I'm not sure where it could be. Maybe @Jon has better answers.

    In campaign, it's equipped on the character "Xura". In multiplayer it should be in the collection.
