Penetration negates all armor but not the armor that prevents all damage (like Resistant Hide). The armor has to have on its text "prevent all damage", so it triggers even against a penetration attack. The type of damage prevented doesn't count.
The wiki has a clearer way of putting it: "When a card with the Penetrating property is played, it prevents reactions by Armor cards unless that card has special instructions to always prevent damage of a given type." For example Resistant Hide says in the card text that it will always block all damage from fire, electricity, poison and acid so if the attack card did fire damage then the penetrating keyword on the attack would not help at all. The normal armor cards that don't explicitly block "all" damage and will be totally ignored by penetrating attacks. EDIT: heh, ninja'd by Dugrim.
This is just not true. Skeleton armor for example is unable to be hit from any Piercing or slashing attack, they get them like crazy, or you have the slimes, that are not as bad with just bashing. They don't have to roll (it automatically succeeds every time), and they don't drop them. Compared to those Crude plates are nothing. Not to mention if your taking discard cards you are not taking other attack cards (In a lot of cases), or you are getting stuck with a few cards you don't really need/want. Or you could just spend all your Bronze/normal abilities to that get some armor breaking/discard and that is actually helpful in some maps, but if the armor wasn't so crazy you could take a lot less. Note.. I am talking about all these automatic block armors.. not Crude Plate. It just jealously though heh... I wish I could get an armor that automatically just stopped 2/3's of all the kinds of attacks they could hit me with . Could you imagine how easy most these dungeons would be with that kind of crazy OP armor. lol
You can get the skeletons to discard their bones armour card, but I can't get the jellies to drop Amorphous Body.
Umm.. as far as I know they are both armor cards, that can be discarded.. Maybe I just used a discard oldest card, and thought it was a discard armor.. so I can't say for sure, but I thought it did work. I could be wrong on this, and if it doesn't then that sounds like a bug.
These can be discarded. Also, thats the fun of creating decks! You'll learn a happy balance in time friend.
The skeleton card is affected by "Discard Armour" cards, but the jellies are not, I think. I may try Boiling Armour to see if that works.
I may be confusing it for Memory Loss. Thats a card i used for a while as well. Keep in mind i havnt actually played any campaign missions since January 13th =P
Yes, the general memory loss cards work but I don't think the specific "Discard Armour" ones do. I have been distracted by running up a bunch of low level chars through the early modules to see if the huge amount of swag I got via the Pizza Chest Spamathon makes a lot of difference. It does, since you're asking.
