This is the 2nd Card Hunter Challenge (CHC2). For more info on CHC and the general rules please see this thread. CHC1 can be found here. Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to attempt to deliver the greatest damage in a single swing, stab, spark, incantation or any other means of inflicting pain. We're looking for most damage to a single character (not adding up all the damage points from a multi-pronged attack). Post a screenshot of your Battle Log (the textbox in upper left while you play) showing the damage value of your entry and see if you can have the highest damage output, proving yourself as an elite Card Hunter! EDIT: Because an enemy character cannot take more damage than the amount of health they currently have, (if you hit a character who only has 5 health with a swing that does 10 damage, the Battle Log will only record 5 damage) I've decided to split this into two possible competitions: Highest Theoretical Damage (highest damage the swing could do) and Greatest Effective Damage (highest damage actually received by a character). You can enter either or both, but will need separate screen shots for both entries. Rules -Please make sure to read the general rules in the thread linked above. -Highest Theoretical Damage -Post a screen shot of your cards BEFORE taking the swing - this is the only way to calculate the maximum potential of your swing. -Greatest Effective Damage -Post a screen shot of your Battle Log AFTER the hit, and tell us what card/combination of cards got you that much damage. -Tiebreakers will be determined by: a) The fewest cards used in combination. -Competition will remain open indefinitely. Q: Why can't I post a single screenshot for both entries? A: Because armor or blocks could alter the actual damage taken by your enemy.
To clarify, so the first person to log an obliterating bludgeon/ all out attack on a dwarf warrior would win?
There are monsters that have more hit points than a dwarf warrior so you can get higher than that. The Yellow Dragon Xanthicius has 60 HP. One-shot him for the win.
My personal best was a Mighty Bludgeon with 2 All Out Attack, 56 damage; I 1-shot an ogre. The theoretical limit: Human Warrior (to include Superb Command): 3 All Out Attack, 1 Obliterating Bludgeon, for 136 damage. (I don't have it in me to sort out exactly the maximum amount of Frenzy effects you can have, but having 10+ total Frenzy is achievable with a lucky draw). Edit: no screenshots, but I hope someone out there is lucky enough to pull off that theoretical combo and remember to screenshot it.
You can use the battlefield training cards to stack up more All Out Attacks to one character. 544 damage has already been videoed.
Triple warriors with 3x Tough Leather Cap, 3x Angry Attacker, 2x Perfect Flexibility, 1x Superb Command and an Almighty Hack could get you theoretically 2560 damages.
544 Damage, five All-Out Attacks, one Obliterating Bludgeon...yet still effortlessly countered by Parry. Going on that model alone though...I theorize that you could probably top that damage. Warrior one would need to have Almighty Hack and All-Out Attack in his hand to start out with and would need to draw into two more All-Out Attacks. Warrior two would have to start out with a combination of All-Out Attacks and Battlefield Trainings, and have to draw two more of those same cards to get them into the hands of the first warrior. Warrior three would have to do exactly the same thing. And all of them would have to nail this perfect draw on the same turn. So...with seven All-Out Attacks in your hand, your damage from an Almighty Hack, the strongest melee attack available to players in the game, your damage would be 20x2x2x2x2x2x2x2 or...2560 Damage. Now, theoretically, you could potentially have an 'enemy' priest helping you with this combo, throwing cards onto your warrior as well. With his help, you could (again, theoretically) get Savage Curse, Unholy Wellspring, and Unholy Frenzy, although you'd need to make sure you were going to discard an Officer's Harness for the actual strike. With those three attachments, that would give you...2569 damage total. However! It can get bigger! First, make sure your target is inflicted with the Vulnerable Trait (Club of Devestation), for an extra damage. Next, (presuming you are battling against an enemy team) using the same style of Battlefield Tactics hand offs (using one priest and two warriors for the enemy team), use Giant Skeletal Arm and Oversized Picks to load up one of the characters with as many Raging Strikes as you can. Assuming that the target just happens to have Vulnerable on him, draws into two more Raging Strikes on his turn, AND can get passed four more Raging Strikes from the Priest (using Perfect Flexibility) and the warrior (using General Gideon's Helm or something similar) for a grand total of eight Raging Strikes in his hand. Now, adding all that together, gives you another 25 damage, giving you a total of...2594 damage. But wait! It can get bigger! If by chance the enemy priest can Accelerated Thought onto the victim warrior, he could potentially draw another Raging Strike in that same god-like turn. Better yet, give him Unholy Energy as well so he could potentially draw two, giving him a grand total of ten Raging Strikes in his hand, increasing the damage of the final strike to 2600. And all it would take is having six characters draw the perfect cards they need two rounds in a row and the cooperation of an enemy party that really really hates their victim warrior. And in the end, it can still be parried if you're unlucky.
Boosts are applied after the AoAs. Also warriors can have more cards from priest attachments at first
Yep, killing the Dragon in a single blow would effectively be the highest possible damage at the moment. Because there's enough interest in theoretical damage, I edited the competition so people can enter either or both ways.
Yep, the Dragon would be better than a dwarf - also the rules specify it must be single player play, though Cardstock would allow you to go after a dwarf if you so chose.
