We were co-oping LF and this happened to an elf warrior. This is apparently not the first time this has happened but I cant find the other posts about this and decided to post a new one anyway.
Not spikes, barbs. The barbs deal penetrating damage to whoever caused the melee damage the armor prevented. You drew Ouch!, so it was you. Cards obviously don't have to make sense, because so often they obviously don't make sense. If you still want an explanation, apparently when you tried to stab yourself with your weapons, your armor prevented the damage by impaling your hand on the barbs. Is this silly? Very. Stabbing yourself with your weapons is silly, but stabbing yourself with your armor is even sillier. Could it happen? Obviously. If it hadn't happened it wouldn't be in the log. Any questions?
Its more like this: you fumble your weapons and while trying to catch them, cut yourself on your armour - if you didnt have armour then the weapon would have cut into your hand! (or knee if you go off of the art)
