Indeed, that doesn't seem to make any sense at all. That said, even if we are to willfully (because I, as a programmer, cannot buy the notion that it is anything other than a willful limitation) work within the limiting confines of such a system for the convenience of the devs, it's clear that there are many cards which are horribly balanced for their color class. Indeed, many cards are even *strictly inferior* to other cards of the same color that fulfill the same role. For example, Improved TK vs Winds of War. Both of these cards are Gold cards found on the same types of items (usually arcane items), yet Winds of War is strictly superior in almost every situation. If these cards are truly intended to be of roughly equal utility on an individual basis, then that is some very transparently sloppy balancing indeed. It's also something I feel I could fix pretty easily... ignoring in-item synergy makes balancing a far simpler issue (although ultimately, the end result won't be as fine). I still would like to see a source for this restriction, however. If I know that the devs want to work within such a framework for whatever reason, then I could write a proposal within that framework, but I'm not going to do that unless I know that that's actually a limitation the devs are imposing on potential changes. I could give far more pertinent feedback if I knew exactly what framework the devs wanted to work within.
