I'll try to get to Essen this time. Missed the last couple of years. Which really is a shame - considering I live in Germany/lower saxony ^^*
I finally located a starter copy of the Marvel Dicemasters follow-up release, Uncanny X-Men. I also found a gravity feed full of Avengers vs X-Men packs buried in the neglected collectibles aisle of a local Target. Bought a fistful of 'em, and the first pack I open has the Green Goblin. ^_^ Having played a couple of matches, it seems like an interesting game - basically MtG with dice, lots of variance, and not much in the way of balance. As with all collectible games, most cards are utterly unplayable, but it's still fun to have a fantasy slugfest between all the marvel characters. The dice look nice from afar, but are kind of shoddy, not even close to square, so I may just end up playing the game with d6 and the reference mappings for actions (which is also less expensive).
