I love the song parody thread. I really wish someone would actually make the covers and run that 24-hour radio loop that got mentioned.
I do question the criteria of the songs chosen in the poll. Was my Wooly Bully lyric changing that enjoyable?
A fair question, my process was simple, each person who wrote a song in the thread was included in the poll, for those who wrote more than one song, i included whichever had received the most likes already
Lol, im so glad i made this poll, there has been 4x more replies than votes! I thought we were more popular than this Thanks to Bandreus for applying the links though.
I hope those who read the songs enjoyed them. I enjoyed writing them, and sometimes needed to just to get them out of my head. I hope the other song butchers lyricists had fun as well. It never seemed like a very hot topic, though. Perhaps we are popular, and people are just having trouble deciding. Probably delusional, but still remotely possible.
It's too much work to read through so many lengthy lyrics and decide a favourite. Never underestimate laziness as the explanation for human phenomena.
It would seem they have run their course, my money is on Jingle Bells for the win. Thankfully there are many other things to parody, and i know many songs, there is a place for us somewhere on the net im sure.
Probably, but I don't think I want to go there. In the meantime, the song thread is still open to vent our euterpean musings.
