I think its rather that my entry requires so much testing to make sure it isnt OP.

 

Sorry for the delays folks, due to some factors I haven't been able to run my shortlist by Jon yet, hence no announceable winner. Should have something for yall in the next few days.

It would be cool if the next AA hinted at the theme of the next expansion or something.

 

Okay, we're back in action. Should have a new build on the test server with MM19 and AA12 in the next day or two, with luck releasing next week. In the meantime I'll try to round up @CT5 for a video, but it might be a few days, or I might just have to announce with no video depending on how things go.

As compensation for the delays, I can say pretty positively that we'll have some preliminary (probably private) playtesting of new content ready shortly after this next release. Again, I can't make guarantees, but I know the state the content is in (I've been making it) and with any luck we'll get the ball rolling on that process very soon!!

 

Idk how I feel about this private compensation. : ( )

CT5 and I will be recording and posting our video on Monday, so if you don't want spoilers on who won this month's contest you might not want to check the test server. On the other hand, we do want to rush this new build out to make room for expansion testing, so it would be helpful if a couple folks could do a once-over for bugs with the new Mauve Manticore.

A couple factors in this month's delays: Jon was traveling for a bit (now returned), and I've had computer issues (now resolved).

 

I'm going to 'spoil' it to you and declare the new AA item unplayable in ranked games. What a waste :/

 

AA is not for us ranked players, its always for the humongous silent party, the one that celebrates the arrival of new flavourful items with interpretive dance.

 

I'm just going to celebrate in my own personal space.

Oh, and just to set expectations ahead of time, this is in the submission thread but I want to make doubly clear: I'm not sure we'll have a mid-month release in September. This round of submissions is still due at the end of the month, as per usual, and with luck, we'll release the winner(s) in September. But, depending on how playtesting of the new expansion is going, we just might not be able to do a mid-month release next month, meaning we would skip a month and release MM20 and AA13 in October. This is a possibility, not a guarantee. Thanks everyone!

 

Initially, when I saw that it was a reject round I hoped we'd be able to introduce cards that had been rejected like Wavering Faith or Bad Medicine but in the explanation it seems to just refer to cards that end up being rejected by players because of their position in items that are rejected. Full disclosure, I'd love to see bad medicine brought back but think if i include it on my item it will be an automatic exclusion.

Also, is there a way to find out from statistics which cards are least used?

 

Again I wasn't mentioned. I am starting to wonder if I will ever be mentioned. I guess you can't please everyone. I even felt like I had a good chance being themed and all.

 

I didn't know yet my entry had won when I commented above. The card choices aren't made to convey some story arc in comic strip fashion either.
