Clearing up a bunch of behind the scenes work that's needed before implementing balance changes that are upcoming. The tutorial system has undergone an extensive rework that should correct a lot of the issues that are causing new players to get stuck. Any help testing the tutorial on the test server would be much appreciated. The client loading is being tweaked again. Let us know if you see any more issues loading it, like the white screen some people have been experiencing (we're always particularly interested in knowing what you see without a browser refresh or cache clear). Winning league games was tweaked in the last release to increase your renown, but this had the side effect of accelerating your subsequent rating advancement when you won a ranked multiplayer game. This should now be corrected as league wins are tracked separately from ranked game wins. We also fixed at least one crash bug and put in a fix that should allow any future stuck/crashed games to be ended by choosing not to reconnect to them. Client Skip options transfer step with a setting. Better handle failures to load flash player plugin. Add a message in the swf that updates saved options to inform users who have cached html/javascript that they need to clear their cache. Tutorial Implemented new server side tutorial flag and progress system (should fix a lot of stuck tutorial issues). Replaced the existing player account system to allocate the initial free characters with a flag system. Disable multiplayer button from world screen and landing until tutorial is complete. Fix the done button not being shown in deck builder after resume if you quit just while moving into levelling up. Removed a bunch of old tutorial code. Reworked the post-tutorial adventure reveal to be more robust. Optimisation Campaign flags aren't deleted - use a "set" column to track unset flags. Cards Movement effects (violent spin, muscle through) always apply to enemies before allies. Added an extra check in block component that should fix a potential null pointer crash when checking Cause Fumble or Defender's Block for a dead card holder. Leagues/Multiplayer Added a new record for league games won. Winning a league game increases league win count, not ranked win count. Lobby ratings update when changed. Reconnection Fixed instruction serialisation. Allows reconnection to a battle that has instructions on the queue. Force loss instruction forces processing even if the battle has stalled. Figures Fixed missing SE orientation for winter Elf Warrior figure.

At no point did I get stuck, I was able to bypass getting a shield...is that wai ? edit: missed this...while recruiting the priest, I managed to get 3 priests. clipboard was full and the priest all filled up on the left...but when i went to the keep (as the ss shows) there are only 2.
Oh you tease...also, I hope that we're not going to have to wait for 2013 to come around again to get this update...
Sometimes I'm getting it, sometimes I'm not getting it...sigh. When told to recruit the priest (with 2 chars on clipboard), I held down ctrl and spammed enter and mouse clicks over the recruit button. And again, re-entering will only show 3 reserve chars...
phaselock reset account, login. Went thru greenfang, got 1 warrior, got 2 wizards, got a bunch of priests. Visited the keep as instructed. Gary's prompts about randimar's. Click randimar's, shield with spinning icon shows and game hangs. Log doesn't show anything, just a bunch of 'Initializing deck builder' before the hang. Now phaselock tries to login, gets 'Login failed: {0}' msg. I guess the account is now corrupted and needs a reset?
So I tried to login on phaselockphase (same browser) who happens to be level 1 and only has the raid of ommlet active with Gary's prompt "click on raid on ommlet and win your first battle!" when I go into the map. a) The landing screen and map shows the multiplayer button active. Relog still shows the same. b) The tavern is showing that I can recruit a wizard. I guess the tutorial flags are fouled up for alt accounts ? I went ahead and recruited the wizard before doing the ommlet, finished the tutorial and now am royally stuck. All 4 tuts done, priest hired (figured out that loading the wrong tavern will allow for the 'hold enter, click multiple recruits bug'), keep does not show, randimar's does not show...yada yada yada...I guess phaselockphase also needs a reset. Maybe some of the tutorial stuck bugs were due to multiple players sharing the same pc ? edit: Well, relog worked...sorry for the false alarm...
Tried resettut in the console, but the command still returns - CHEAT: Unknown command. Created another account and everything looked good. (Didn't try recruiting extra characters. )
How did you get the extra wizards? Using the click spamming/holding down enter technique when recruiting?
Yes, I think this is a transitional problem - for players who have an account where they've recruited the warrior but haven't completed the second tutorial adventure yet. I'll put in a fix for that.
Yeppers, spamming enter and mouse clicks over the recruit button. Ditto for the priests, currently my fav technique for breaking recruitment atm. I'm also noticing periodic graphic lag, say, when grabbing the map and just dragging it back and forth across the screen. Is there a heartbeat sync with the server or browser grabbing/refreshing stuff from cache ?
It's probably a rendering performance issue. The map is one bitmap, which I imagine is cached as a single entity.
