Can't play single player campaign

Whenever I try and play single player campaing, I get the following error message:

Party not saved:
Your party is not Card Hunter Certified, so it can not be saved. Please ensure your characters are legal and then try again.

I saved my party but that did not do any good.

This usually happens when you have items equipped that require more power tokens than are available at the level you are playing. The items should be highlighted in red on each character sheet. The game will save the party (different than storing) when the overages are corrected.

If this works, Happy hunting!
If it doesn't, it's beyond me.

Well that's odd because the item that I now see in question is something I played with all day long and it never gave me an error. Does not make sense, you know?

 

Each adventure has a level number on the map. Your characters can be maximum 2 levels higher than the adventure level. If they are any higher, their level is temporarily adjusted downwards. This will make you temporarily lose power tokens and then you will be unable to use the same exact equipment you used in a higher-level adventure. You will get the levels and power tokens back when you again play a higher-level adventure. Hope this helps!

 

Awesome! That explains it completely now. That's exactly what I had done.
