Upon further checking, I think it always blocks first regardless of targeting. I need to check further with linear and cone.
What is the correlation of Too Horrible to a block such as Disorienting Block? Is there a difference in behaviour and if so what is it?
This wasn't a proper test (because Buff was at or near max HP each time), but Sacred Shroud has weird timing with some other cards... Sacred Shroud + Negative Energy Being Sacred Shroud + Boosted Heal
When a character attacks with Pulverizing Bludgeon and Too Horrible triggers, pulverizing bludgeon doesn't do it's damage from being blocked.
Back to Hypno Beacon. This is apparently common knowledge in some circles, but I'd assumed the wrong thing and I couldn't find any info on the forum. @Testlum and I tested for you (which he already knew): Hypnotic Beacon vs. Immovable and Stone Feet I'd figured the triggering would go like this: 1. Character tries to move under one's own control. 2. Hypno Beacon tries to affect that move. 3. Immovable/Stone Feet prevents that Attack card and allows character to move under one's own control anyway. However, I was wrong. It goes like this: 1. Character tries to move under one's own control. 2. Hypno Beacon affects that move. 3. Neither Immovable nor Stone Feet trigger vs. that Attack. $:^ [ I'm willing to call this a bug myself, but anyway, at least it's posted now. In fact, no, re-reading, I'm certain this is a bug and will report it promptly. "You cannot be moved or placed in a new location by enemy cards." "Target . . . cannot be moved to or placed in a new location by cards controlled by its enemies." vs. "whenever an enemy within 1 square moves under their own control, make that move randomly" - that's a char being moved to a new location (usually not a location of the char's choice) by an enemy card / card controlled by its enemy In the future, I'd like to see Maze Of The Mind tested if it hasn't been already. I considered what repercussions this might have on Encumber cards, but even though those affect movement, the target char still chooses the final destination. Hypno, however, 100% chooses it for the enemy.
I have nothing to contribute, but this was an absolutely fascinating thread to read! I hope you all and others continue to find the oddities of Cardhuntria and report them here!
@ParodyKnaveBob and I tested Spark Of Undeath the other day. Using Advanced Battlefield Training on a priest, waiting for a wizard to draw Spark Inductor or Spark Generator then passing to that wizard Spark Of Undeath, then playing said card. Spark Inductor does indeed trigger and boost damage from the electrical attack/assist. Not earth-shattering but...it hadn't been recorded on this thread before.
I didn't test on purpose, but did y'all know that Daylight will go straight through Illusory Barrier and clear terrain behind the barrier (or multiple barrier squares). Guess which league I discovered that in.
Savage Curse vs Foreshadowed Strike vs -> Incense [WC] savagely curses Brunt [WC] Gary passed. Brunt [WC] plays Foreshadowed Strike. Brunt [WC] drew Perforating Strike. Savage Curse added 3 damage. Brunt [WC] discarded Perforating Strike. Reinforced Door took 8 Piercing damage. Yes, if the attacker has no other cards in hand and plays Fore. Strike, then the Immediately created Perf. Strike becomes the oldest card, and Savage Curse discards Perf. Strike as expected. On a side note, I finally found an actual use for Fool's Maul! Since I only have one copy of one item with Fore. Didn't Obvious Maneuver originally refer to "multiplayer/campaign" rather than "Game Master"? When did that change? (Or am I remembering wrong?) It certainly has always just been determined by SP/MP, and not who the opponent is.
The opponent isn't irrelevant for Obvious Maneuver, either. I can't tell what effect it has in MP (not actively playing MP) but in Campaign there are two cases: You play it or Gary plays it. Gary always draws a replacement card, so in Campaign the text is correct and the opponent indeed is important to mention.
Oldest wiki entry says GM. http://wiki.cardhuntria.com/index.php?title=Cards/Obvious_Maneuver&oldid=2362 From here, my memory says playing a ranked GM match causes OM to not draw. Not as easy for me to test since I don't currently intend to bring OM into ranked. $:^ J Repeatedly. $:^ | Until meeting Cardotron2000. $:^ { $:^ P
Doom on Negative Energy Being + Spoiler: Result Negative Energy Being does prevent death from Doom, it also heals an amount equal to target's curent hp.
