Anyone have any comments on this submission? I'm torn on whether it's a bit cheesy and/or doesn't fit the anarchic theme. I'd love to be able to use some other 'line of sight' things (especially attack the darkness), but using what we have available...

That would be super powerful in SP. Sure, you'll kill your teammates, but you'll kill everything else too.

True that; I hadn't really considered it for SP - a useful tool for farming, or just plain OP?

Wouldn't Staff of the inferno or Staff of the misanthrope be better?

Also I think it's a pretty fun staff to play with even if it's not the best staff out there.

Let me explain why I created this item.

The theme: Spell skill is supposed to be the crystal ball on the wand(kind of like the Staff of the inferno picture).
Magic missiles are the arcane bullets that the wizard shoot at their enemies.
Battery Explosion is when the prototype wand malfunctions.

Playability: I added a spell skill to make this staff a bit more interesting than The Twins.
While searing pain is clearly a better staff I think this staff could see people playing it for the spell skill.
The Twins has the same level and the same token cost then this item so this could be an alternative to The Twins .
Also I think magic missiles is at best is like a ranged trained bludgeon, it get's destroyed by armor and it can be used to check blocks.

    Thanks for taking your time.:)
    Feedback is appreciated.

I can't tell which of the AA discussion threads is for what, to be honest, so I'll just post here.

I'm not quite sure if my item (Obvious Maneuver, Unlucky, Doom) is kosher, since it's putting Doom on what I'm calling a human skill. So far, of course, we only have each of the new items on 1 slot. I can't tell anything from the card file where exactly they're allowed to go, so please let me know if this is legal or not.

That being said, I don't think Doom is so strong that putting it on a racial skill is overpowering, and I think/hope the fun/flavor more than makes up for it.

Bah, I'd've gone with Doom on my entry but I had only seen it in the campaign from enemies - I was not aware of the Evil Hourglass. And even though it'd pretty much be exactly what I was aiming for I don't really feel right changing it now since my entry would then very substantially resemble JinxedSaying's.

Despite giving a textual reason for Battery Explosion (it's a prototype), so far (iirc) Flaxative has commented in videos that they haven't wanted to give Laser Malfunction cards to players b/c there's a difference between rolling a die, maybe you get it or not, which one do you get .. vs. I'm putting this in my deck. That said, have at it, it's your theme! $E^ J

That said, pretty funny that Spell Skill can draw Battery Explosion. $}^ J

Interesting internally themed set of cards. Vulnerable feels a little "just tacked on," but I can see the various in-game reasons to do so. When I read "Susceptible CEO," I suppose I was just thinking "susceptible" would play out in a more CEO-like fashion, such as some card somehow representing subject-to-bribes or other bad business decisions -- and then I saw the cards. ~shrug~ 'Kay.

Then remind yourself by reading the two threads' OPs. $E^ ]

The big, easy thing to remember: the "Official Discussion Thread" is to discuss anything and everything EXCEPT submissions; the "Official SUBMISSION Discussion Thread" is to discuss submissions.

    How about this?

    Doomed Submission
    Weapon
Doom, Doom, Doom, Doom, Doom, Doom
BTW it is level 30 and is a legendary. (if this "weapon" wasn't already doomed enough)

Help what would the rarity and token requirements be for my staff:

Jim's Magic Missile x2, Arcane Burst, Arcane Beam, Force Bolt, Defensiveness

Thinking of renaming it 'Staff of Corporate Downsizing'. Might be a bit of a mouthful though.

Yeah but my question is really 2 parts:
    1) Does anyone know what items the new cards can be on? (See: "any questions you may have for a specific month's contest")
    2) Does my item then break the rules? (Compare: "discuss current submissions"; with: "do not discuss submissions")

    Please advise.

But since no one has suggested that Doom shouldn't be on a Human Skill, I'm content to just leave it as is for now.

Doom only exist on divine items, so the recommendation is that it should only be on a divine items. But it is a recommendation not a rule.

Personally I think they are gonna be very careful about where they put such a powerful card.

Unlucky only exists on a divine armor. Personally I don't see the problem with having this card in other slots.

After further reflection I find that Prototype wand of seeking arcane was too similar to The Twins.

I decided to jump in some ranked games guess what:
all of my opponents was BuRFFFFFT.....
    Soooo I made this item!
No need to Nerf savage curse... If this is a item.... Ok SC still needs Nerf

@JinxedSaying, I'm guessing we're being given a bit more freedom this month on just what can go where (as long as it's a player card) due to the nature of the items we've already gotten from AI which mix things up a bit -- for example, a tokenless shield with a Cantrip 6 damage attack. $8^ | Of course, theme should be a big factor.

EDIT: I forgot to mention. Doom is Magic Unholy, though, which doesn't really thematically fit with a Human Skill (imo), especially its particular nature of kill-in-four-rounds.

    ~

On that note, I'm slowly formulating an item. So far,

    Full Steam A Head
    Bull Rush, Spiked Mail, __?__

    uncommon, level 9 (minortoken)

Having trouble landing on a final card.

I've just played the AI expansion (hence picking the cards I did -- Bull Rush being a card Binwin uses and strictly worse than Brutal Charge, and Spiked Mail looking almost like Binwin's broken helmet ha ha). I've considered Binwin's Trip, but that'd be two non-helmet cards on a helmet, plus would just be annoying to play (although tokenless), and it really doesn't bring out the flavor I want. I'd prefer some kind of frenzy; Frenzy Aura certainly carries the feel, and it'd raise the level to 18 (majortoken), and therefore might justify giving yet another Frenzy Aura to a warrior -- oh, but now I see the AI Heavy Armor already uses it; Blind Rage is found on a helmet already, but AI's dwarf skill uses it, too. Any advice, folks? (Even Boiling Armor crossed my mind for visual flavor, but it really doesn't match otherwise.)

EDIT: I just realized (since I now have both Rook and Ruin), the AI source material probably had these items named already, huh? That makes me wonder if there's any name for that helmet. I should go find out (unless someone knows off the top of one's head). League time right now, though! $:^ P

    ~

@Potatus: Funny! $:^ ] But I can count at least five reasons why that'd probably never flyfish. $;^ J

Maybe try War Cry ? Like a good ol' cry (or cry baby, lol). It'd be a justified card, and is on helm.
