Not in SP, except those rare occations when there's only one or two opponents; You can easily be killed immediately with chains of Loner cards before you're able to do a damn thing.
i use the same characters in SP atm as the ones i started with, one of them is a Vamp and i use x2 Vamp blade on him from lvls 2-17
There are a few item I'm interested in at Randimar's today - but I don't have a lot of gold. Azgul's Orb and Chartwell's Ring are both nice firestorm items. I already have 1 Chartwell's, but I don't have Azgul's. Hawlic's Surging Shield is an item that I've wanted to use from time to time, to recapture the block-and-move effect of the old Slippery Shield from before the cards were changed. I might buy this at the end of the week if I can afford it. Angry Jack's Helmet is pretty good, in my opinion - but I already have 1, and I probably don't need 2. Sarigo's Rod is an old classic. This item was huge before Winds Of War was changed.
Both of those are in my Randi too (I already have 2 Azguls but no Chartwells). I'm also amused to see Kelvin's Chunk Of Ice, Mindless Aggression, and Rolf's Reliable Platemail right next to each other. If I make 700 gold this week I'll grab Chartwell's.
I think I can afford for one legendary and 1 - 2 epics. Is Captain Cedric's Helm my best pick? What to buy after Firehide Robes? Legendary Arcade's Amber Amulet (have one already) Bloodshield Of Xoc (if only I'd have unlimited budget) Captain Cedric's Helm (looks good for tokenless helmet) Heartripper (is there any use in high-level SP or even MP?) Kelharin's Clogs (Cpt. Cedric's Helm seems to be far better) Nuncible's Boots (better than the Clogs above?) Oskar's Pine Shield (have one already) Pergop's Slippers (2x Violent Spin is good, but can any build spare a major token for boots?) St. Alipp's Hammer (I have one St. Amarack's Cudgel, the poor man's hammer) The Tenderizer (I think I'll continue to use Double-edged Sword over this) Epic Farzil's Perplexing Horn (have two already) Firehide Robes (BOUGHT!) Flexible Tactics (meh) Lochaber Axe (I think one is enough for now) Petochl's Sword (I think I'll continue to use Bejeweled Shortsword over this) Shield Of The Tumbler (should I just save this money for Aegis Of The Defender fund?) St. Bethan's Charm (I think one is enough for now) Staff Of Freezing Fire (good for handicap guests, I guess, but how many better items are there this week?) Xalanen's Boots (maybe for my FS wizards, but are they much better the Skipping Boots I currently use?) Ztoli Idol (meh, have two already)
I have two legendary items I'm tossing up between (I have 2.4k so won't take much to get one of them) - either: The Tenderizer or Bleneth's Frenzy Medallion There's one decent Epic (I'm thinking) - Xander's Boots but I already have a pair and rarely use them. Thoughts - Definitely the Medallion I think.
That bloodshield looks really nice, 3 blocks that are all good for one minor token i like. If i had lots of gold to spare i would buy that. The tenderizer unfortunately, doesnt really have a place in any format, there are better sundering options when required. Heartripper is not a necessity, but can be useful in SP on Dragons and the like, and can be a surprise in a niche MP deck. Cedrics helm is nice, of course with any officers harness you want an enchanted to add to the die roll. pretty much the rest are meh, except for Petochls sword is which is handy to have, if you dont have at least one, i recommend you get it, it is handy in leagues and certain quests.
Cool stuff I don't have from this week: The Strongarm Focused Thinker and Trained Tactics There is an Bleneth's Skull too but I already have one. Also Reynoldo's Boots look interesting but I am not too sure about it. I instant-brought Strongarm and can buy 2 more at best. Any recommendations?
@Pawndawan: Crusty Helm > Captain Cedric's. I'd recommend Heartripper, Pergop's Slippers, or save your gold. @X_Sauron_X: Medallion is quite good. I wouldn't say it's a must-buy, but you won't be disappointed with it. Up to you! @Youbo: If you have a bunch of extra gold and you want Focused Thinker / Trained Tactics, then go for it! There are better legendaries though. I bought Focused Thinker a few weeks ago mostly to make @Flaxative jealous. I do have a fairly amusing character with it now though haha. Reynoldo's Boots certainly aren't bad, either. I would personally save the gold, but you can prob find a use for it. I do believe @Fry_The_Guy used a pair of those boots in the team that got him to #1...
If lateral thinking was converted to more of a super purge self type card it would be much more viable, particularly on a team of wizards or warriors where they lack a purging equivalent, (i guess warriors do have arrogant armor though). Even if this meant removing the card draw aspect to balance it, because currently it is a card cycler and little more.
For SP -> I prefer Chartwell's .. Angry Jack's -> There are MP decks where I used all 3 .. I would buy that 2nd one..
3rd week of getting nothing good Legendarys: Bloody Command - again not sure if its worth it - i can just use Command for Sprint, Team! Hawlic's Handy Axe - added because i have x2 different Hawlic's items in shop Hawlic's Surging Shield - i use this one on elf warriors or priests to draw a block - the opponent gets very mad usually Lt. Buckwell's Boots - probably not, but then again alot of people are using it Staff Of Embers - i am not sure if its worth cancelling one for for the price of a card Epics: - at least there is no riptide Bertha's Big Clogs - probably the only insta buy here Sliding Boots - first time i have ever seen them but i think its too late now - because of the TW nerf Help decide what to buy thank you
Even three can be usable with a buffing priest party. A second one is an insta-buy for me. See also these Flaxative's posts: http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/the-daily-deal.6286/page-33#post-77332 http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/the-daily-deal.6286/page-33#post-77338
Possibly the best Human skill in the game. I use Embers more than Million Embers, so if you don't have either I'd go for this. If you already have Million, you can save your gold for Searing Pain or a Flame.
Not going to argue, especialy since everyone say it is, but if its a legendary it does mean its the best, give me an effective deck that uses it then i will believe you. Thats exactly what i do but i have never seen a Searing Pain in my whole life of playing CH and every time i see Red Flame in shop i dont have the gold for it or there is something better in there.
You really don't see if an item is good based on the cards it has? Bloodied Block is good on any deck. Sprint Team is good on any deck. Flanking Move is, you guessed it, good on any deck.
I like your questions: you don't just believe the words. You behave like me The best deck for Bloody Command is a priest supporting two warriors. The reason is obvious: Sprint, Team! is fantastic in such config. Both your warriors immediately reach their targets and start the carnage. Flanking Move is very good in this setup since the opponent will inevitably try to kill your priest - as the weakest character you have. If the opponent warrior chases your priest, he can run away with Flanking Move and immediately cast Mass Frenzy. An extra block will be very useful too. Is it enough for you?
Now you say that but when was the last time you kept Flanking Move for a Defender's Block or Mass Frenzy?, same goes for Bloody Block - and anyway at least i would have used the Flanking Move to gain priority at the end of the round, also if i needed to get Sprint, Team i would just use Command it has more team moves anyway and i dont seem to draw Slowed too often - not going to buy especially because i only have 2660 gold
I don't think comparing Flanking Move and Bloodied Block (two bronze cards) to Mass Frenzy and Defender's Block (a silver and a gold card) makes much sense. Obviously the latter are more valuable than the former. As for keeping Flanking Move vs. using it to immediately steal priority: It might make sense, depending on the situation at hand ofc. Anyway, Bloody Command is a hell'uva good skill. I don't currently use it, but I have very specific reasons to use something else instead. Not that I'm trying to convince you into purchasing it or anything. If you don't see a valid use for it in whatever your current builds are, then definitely skip it and save up for something else you can get a better use off instead.
