After I trounced everyone with vamps, I started seeing lots of Dodge in high-tier matches. I dislike Dodge almost as much as the old WWE/WW, and will probably start ragequitting against it soon. On the plus side, a lower ELO means I'll be able to churn through chests like I used to. :D

Also, Dodge and the RNG collude, and we all know the RNG sux.*

*that time I got hit while holding 4 Dodge and swore to never use it again -_-

Should happen 1 out of 16 times on average, which is still more than twice as likely as rolling snake eyes with two dice.

    Also a likely explanation. :)

What if Dodge didn't have keep but drew you a card when it triggered instead? Would maintain the card advantage without the possibility of dodging 5 attacks in a row.

That could work. Or just make it discard itself on a roll of 6.

Or we could just nerf it to be 5+ and see how strong it is from there... I've been asking Jon to do that for a long time (along with MF being +2 and Res Hide / Imp Nimbus not being so binary).

I dunno. at 5+ it'd be the same as Reflexive Teleport, which sucks and nobody uses.

5+ blocks are just too inconsistent in general. I'd rather just have a more consistent but less potentially broken card.

They don't use it because it is on Wizards who shouldn't be getting hit in the first place with melee. Plus, there isn't many good items with Reflexive Teleport unlike there are with Dodge.

There is a long list of counters to one dodge, so the only problem i see is that you can get loads of them. Dodge upsetting inflexible vampire players by disrupting their cantrip play is not a problem, its a blessing.

I tend to pack a couple cone of cold spells on my wizard now specifically to combat dodgy.

Deleted my post, but you were too fast. (reread the card and noticed the encumber part)

  13. More nerfs? Just make all the cards useless and see what happen then

Brilliant argument. Let's just not touch the most OP cards that everyone uses because otherwise ALL cards would be useless... that logic!

Pretty sure Reflexive Teleport would see play if it were a bronze card.

I wouldn't mind if all the step cards worked the same way as dodge with encumber effects.

  17. I didn' t say that. If you want to balance the game cards then only improves useless cards rather than worsen the only ones that are useful. Or worse all the cards until all are equally useless, that's not very logic...

Most definitely. It's basically a less reliable and overpriced version of dodge.

That would be a great incentive to use encumber spells again!

That would really suck though. I have enough problems with encumber as it is.

And Flax is right, Reflexive Teleport costs 3X as much as Dodge and has less chance of working, albeit it DOES teleport.

Stacking two Reflexive Teleport costs basically 2-3X as much as stacking two Dodge. And even when you have both cards, dodge only has a 25% failure rate while RT has a 44% chance of not working, which is basically only as good as one dodge to begin with. That's right, one bronze Dodge ~ two gold RT.
Yep, that just about sums it up. RT needs a buff (which might be a problem) or it needs to be reduced to silver or even bronze somehow.
