[Feedback] MP vs SP rewards

    My average game is 15 minutes and win rate currently about 75%.
    Most people play faster games but don't win that often. For me would take 26-27 games = about 6-7 hours. Add some queue time and it's full 7 hours.
    For these 20 wins average can't be over 1 legendary though.

    It should be around 2 to 3 Legendary... assuming they get a Purple Chest from 20 wins and from 2 League games that would be 1 or 2 and simply from the other chests you're looking at possibly 1.

    Even still, MP rewards are much less than SP rewards. SP rewards are basically guaranteed (the enemy doesn't change enough to make you lose games constantly) while in MP your win ratio should eventually become around 50% if the Elo system is working correctly, which means it takes twice as long to get wins.

    So, maybe what we could say is that farming SP is usually better, because it gives you a better guarantee that we will be obtaining a certain quantity of epics and legendaries if you do all the modules, you also receive way more gold, and it's more targetable. However, are the leagues the best way to farm in terms of time/benefit?
    In average, 2 leagues = 2 hours, 2 epic chests and 3-5 gold chests. It certainly beats the mp ladder alone (although you are doing part of the ladder while you play the leagues), but is it better than SP?
    In SP, 2 hours, would be in average 1-2 legendaries and 5-6 epics.
    The loot seem pretty balanced, what do you think?

    Leagues are balanced (or better) with SP, but MP normal chests are not. Unless someone can play in 2 Leagues a day and get a large number of wins from those (which contribute to MP normal chests) it falls behind pretty quickly.

    I'd move to increase the MP chests and have a really good 1st or 3rd win chest for casuals. It would encourage more people to play MP and would help balance out a lot of the SP farming stuff. Granted, SP people could do both -- but at least it balances the line for those who don't do MP at all.

    Plus, I'd add another Gold chest in between the currently last Gold chest and the Purple chest to make the climb less of a chore.

    This is what I was thinking too. Most of the times, if I reach the 11th chest I just stop there, because having all those brown chest before the epic is really discouraging, unless I'm playing some really fast league like Chess Madness was.

    Gold chests from 1-3-6-11-20 to 1-3-6-10-15-20?
    And yes, I agree they should be better chests. Not 1-2 rares but 2-4 rares.

    Yes, something like that. Have the second or third Gold chest maybe even be Purple and the last Purple be guaranteed 1 Epic + 1 Rare. That would encourage more MP players and help balance out the rewards.

    In the past 3 days I've run 42, 44, and 25 adventures to completion. (Lost connection after reset today, so it was a short run.) In these 111 adventures (and the speed farming I do between reset and the LF hunt) I've found 0 legendaries. Maybe this means I'm due. I'm pretty sure my average legendary drop rate is well below 1/25. We'd need a thread like What is the shortest method to get most gold pieces (gp) in order to compile the data from thousands of runs to get a fairly accurate number. The good news here is that the tools are available. (Thanks @Farbs, @neoncat and @Jarmo!)
    I haven't been tracking my speed, but I'd estimate an average of 8-10 per hour. Faster on the low end, slower on the high end. I have 6296 gp worth of items to sell off, so I may lose some lag when I clean up my inventory.

    I own 89% of the items and barely farm SP anymore. I did farm SP for 3 to 4 hours a day for a month with membership and did finish about 1/5th of the quests (no death for most, 1 hp for level 17 and level 1-6). Additionally, I farmed for 1 to 2 hours a day for another month. And then down to 30 minutes to 1 hour a day for a third month. Now I farm for maybe 15 minutes to 30 minutes a day (level 6 missions and loot fairy). I have been purchasing every Epic item I don't own in Randimars for 7 months though.

    I also think I got a huge boost to my collection once Leagues came out as I would play like 4 a day and got 1st in almost all of them. I'll go through the list of the Leagues and check how many I've done and what my placements in them are later on. Might give some idea on stuff?

    Wow. Your legend rate seems very low or I've been very lucky in these 2 runs. In the first run, I didn't even complete all the adventures (no level 2,3,4,8 and 9). If I do it again I will try to confirm this.

    I can't actually believe 4 legendaries per 53 adventures either to be the average, should be less. But I really don't have the data.

    I started tracking a bit this week after these discussions. It's a drop in the bucket compared to what we'd need to calculate the odds. Plus you'd really need to pull out the loot fairy numbers from this as well (those would only skew the averages higher).

    Wednesday ~35 adventures - 2 Legendaries
    Thursday ~35 adventures - 2 Legendaries
    Friday ~35 adventures - 2 Legendaries
    Saturday ~12 adventures - 0 Legendaries
    Sunday ~36 Adventures - 0 Legendaries


    Personally I wish we could figure out the relative odds of a common/random item rolling up a legendary, and than do the same for guaranteed uncommon, rare and epic. With those points you can figure out the odds of any specific chest with or without the club bonuses.

    I figure we could get the common numbers from the simple/ornate chests in the shop. The loot fairy gives us a relative shot at figuring at the odds of rares improving to legendary. Epics from purchase logs of epic chests. But I can't figure out what to do about uncommons.

    My estimation after farming a lot would be somewhere around 0.7 legendaries for playing the entire sp campaign including treasure maps/aota

    I am still collecting datas from the last chest of MM. From what I could see so far (50+ final chests), club reward is guaranted Uncommon+. Didn't pay attention at normal rewards but probably 2 U guaranted there too. This could help.

    Otherwise I kinda agree with boro's rate. I get one L every two days when I play 75% of the maps. or about one a week just by doing the MMs on a daily basis (so 35 adventures/week).

    My data (26 final chests) agrees: they seem to be 2 Uncommon+ items, just like regular SP adventures. Note that the item levels are based on your renown at the time.
     
  17. I have been on a similar drought the past two weeks of farming. However, my second Chartwell's Ring dropped today at Beneath the Frozen Earth, so be heartened!

    Ok, I've been farming again after a while (the World Cup is covering most of my free time) and I defintely got lucky previously. I've done 57 adventures if I didn't miscount (every adventure except the last Mauve Manticore and the level 1 modules), and I only got 2 legendaries and about 8-9 epics. We need more data, but 4 seems too high to be the average for a complete SP farming. 2 seems more likely to be a closer number.

    Thanks for the inspiration, Susurrus! I found 1 legendary in a truncated (flash crash after reset) run of 28.
