Hail to all Cardhuntrians, I had considered buying the AotA bundle for a few days now, and today I made up my mind and tried to buy it. I was somehow being prevented from doing so, however. I don't know which errors caused this, but the info box that popped up said that, due to multiple errors, my purchase couldn't be processed and confirmed. I have tried again up to the grand total of 5 times, but the result was exactly the same -- or rather, there was no result. I still would like to purchase the AotA bundle, so if anyone has any answers that may help solve this issue, I would be very happy to hear them! Thanks in advance.
My apologies, I just noticed that I didn't include sufficient information in my original post. Let me fix that. So, I used PayPal as payment method -- I hope I don't have to share any info about that. I had entered the correct email address and password and clicked on "Proceed". Then there's the page where you check your payment details and where you must confirm your purchase. I clicked "Finish purchase" and the loading warning appeared as it was processing my purchase, but the tab on my web browser (I always use Google Chrome) closed itself automatically before it could finish. It also automatically returned to the Card Hunter tab, and shortly after a pop-up window appears saying that my purchase wasn't processed. There, that was all the information I accidentally neglected to mention. Again, sorry for the mistake, and thanks in advance!
I just tried my sandbox account on the test server and it worked properly. All I can think to suggest is making sure you don't have any of PayPal's software processes blocked. And welcome back to CH! Even if it isn't going so well at the moment.
That sounds odd. Did you try the Google Wallet payment option, maybe that works better if there's a temporary issue with Paypal?
Hi, I checked and we did get an error from Paypal about your transaction. Please email support@cardhunter.com to follow up.
Thanks a lot for your reply, Mr. Jon! I admire your work at Blue Manchu and on this great game. I feel honored that you replied to one of my posts, of all people! ...Can I please be so frank as to ask you something? I would like for you to check out another topic I created -- it involves a few suggestions for the game. Here's a link: http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/a-few-game-suggestions.5921/#post-63016. Thanks again, and please continue evolving Card Hunter! Oh, and I did what you suggested, sir. I sent an email to the Card Hunter support team. I only created this topic because we have such a friendly and helpful community here, and I figured that there might just be someone who encountered the same problem as I did. Thanks, I'm glad to be back. Can I just ask... what's a sandbox account? I have never heard of such a thing before! I don't know what's causing this issue, but it sure is annoying! But no, I didn't try the Google Wallet payment option. I used to be able to use it -- it was connected to my father's creditcard (I live at home with my mother and don't own a creditcard myself). But... my father passed away very suddenly last March, so... we had to cancel his creditcard.
BM set up a 'sandbox' at PayPal for the test server that allows users to create a sandbox personal account. The personal account draws from a fake source, and can ony spend on the site the sandbox is linked to. It's designed to test financial transactions before real money is involved, and for testers it's a source of unlimited free pizza. If you want to use it, set up a CH account on the test server, then go to PayPal and follow the instructions .
Seriously?! That sounds awesome! As long as it's possible to then use that free pizza (yummy ) in my actual account, then I'm all for trying it out. Can you please give me a link to the test server? I wasn't a beta tester, so...
The sandbox account pizza is for the test server only. The test serve can be found at http://test.cardhunter.com
Oh, okay... I guess that makes sense, otherwise the whole micro-transaction system would be next to useless. Still a shame, though. Free stuff is always nice! EDIT: I contacted the support at Jon's suggestion, and they have already replied back. They have solved the issue and completed my purchase of the AotA bundle! I wonder what those adventures will be like, but it'll be a while before I manage to get to them. I'm only at the level 8 adventure modules, and that's with my strongest party.
The First Aota Adventures are lvl 7, 8 & 9. So you should be able to play some of them sooner than the last 3 (who are all lvl 18).
