A new build has arrived. Release 1.43 contains the balance changes that we previewed a while back. In addition, the build has the winners of the custom battle contest! These can be found in the Mauve Manticore adventure on the campaign map (it unlocks when you finish Beneath the Frozen Earth). The loot you get from this adventure is dependent on how far through the campaign you are, so it should prove worthwhile regardless of your level. Don't forget that these custom battles don't use your party - you use pre-built characters made by the battle creators. The Halloween items and figures are no longer purchasable. They may, nor may not, return next year... Finally, a special gift to say sorry for anyone who has been put out by the rebalancing we had to do. Yes, it's a Demon Skull Snuffbox, a one of a kind Rare treasure! You should find it waiting for you in your inventory. Enjoy, but only partake in moderation please (or sell it, if you really need the gold!). Adventures Mauve Manticore has arrived! Mauve manticore awards loot at player level. There's an annoying bug in this build where clicking a link in the chat panel opens the link in the same tab as the game (forcing the game to reload). I'm deploying hot-fix to this shortly.
No compensation for the nerfed items? Thought you'd at least let us sell them back to the store for full price... Now I have a ton of useless stuff I bought under false pretenses. =/ EDIT: Oh, people get a "Demon Skull Snuffbox" ... Eh, considering I had max items for all the cards nerfed I think letting us sell back the items for full price or something would be better. Oh well.
What particularly expensive item got nerfed? The biggest transgressor was an uncommon that I have at least 10 of...
Yeah, the uncommons worth 25 gold each. I bought a ton of them a few weeks ago before the nerf announcement. Granted, it is only like 300 to 400 gold worth of stuff, but still... Also, Demonic Feedback was so over nerfed. I would have still kept it with Draw 2. Range 3 with 5 unblockable damage is fine, but only drawing one? Why would anyone EVER use it over Inspiration?
Thanks for the Demon Skull Snuffbox! It's a pretty elegant way of handling the issue and the gesture of good will and reparation is appreciated! I also like the interesting decision game element of it, keep or sell? Straight up refund would be pretty dull. Now the unique treasure serves as a gameplay refinement history keepsake or a cash infusion in desperate times.
Idea behind card balancing is not to make cards "useless". They are now simply less overpowered. If it turns out they are too weak, BM will most likely next buff them. That's how it goes. BM having to refund people every time card balancing happens, would be rather silly. It's not like you lost money. You still have the cards AND you have Demon Skull Snuffbox. Those cards could be useful in the future. Also 300-400 gold is pretty much nothing. I would be more understanding had you spent 10k or something.
Well, Inspiration is a silver card compared to Demonic Feedback's paper status, so Inspiration is supposed to be better in the same way that Strong Stab is better than Stab. So you'd only ever use Demonic Feedback if you couldn't afford the tokens for an item with Inspiration, or the other cards on the item were important to you - basically, the same reasons you'd put up with playing with any card that's inferior to another.
Thanks for keeping the train rolling. While I'm not even a fraction as active as i used to be i still do partake in your great game and its nice to see that its moving forward.
Minor bug in the first new mission, where the bronze golem's inventory jumps all over the top of the screen, sometimes covering Gary's victory stars too.
Brilliant, what fun. Congratulations to the winners, you should feel really proud having your games out there for all fellow cardhuntrians to play. I totally appreciate the look of the Mauve Manticore, reminds me of getting Fighting Fantasy's Warlock magazine from the newsagent in the 80s. Well done again, and more Manticores all round, huzzah.
