I just started playing recently, so there's a lot I'm still learning. I'm trying to build a viable 3-wizard comp. Is there a way to make a frost/control (cone of cold, TK, etc) wizard? Other than purchasing the starter packs that come with items and cards, I don't really know what I'm doing. None of the premade wizards is a frost specialist. I purchased the three elf wizard starter pack (for their items, my wizards are other races) and the adventurer pack because that wizard comes with the hurricane stone. I've still got 50 pizza left, but I really don't know what I'm doing. Should I spend gold on those random chests? I'm not opposed to paying for the card with real money, but if I'm going to do that I would rather pay for the actual item/card I'm looking for than gamble for a chance at getting what I want out of a random chest. Of course, if this is not an option, I'll live with that
My recommendation: play through the campaign before doing much MP. And if you want to spend pizza, treasure hunts plus club membership is the way to go.
Make sure to look in Randimar's rarities every week, maybe you'll get lucky. Also, if you complete the campaign up to lvl 11 (or possibly slightly higher) you'll get access to the high level daily shop in mp as well. I get the impression you've not played sp much at all, so this might be news to you - and could possible be an incentive to play some! Edit: And yeah, what Keyser said.
Play and items will drop. There are plenty good items in those two packs you bought for you to win PvP matches. Random chests are gambling. Do it if you like gambling and avoid it if you don't Alternative is to keep your gold and check out the rarities shop weekly for epics. On a sidenote: the single player campaign gives you the adventurer pack for free around level 6 EDIT: ah the others were faster. Do as they say
Thank you so much! I've only done the campaign up to level 5 so far. My MP rating with the premade characters hovers around 850-950... I guess I'm doing OK for a newb, but I don't know how high it can go. As an aside, is there any restriction on/disapproval of creating multiple accounts to play around with the free pizza?
You're only allowed 1 account as per the ToS. Warning, then ban if it happens again. That's pretty set I'd say. Edit: Source Edit2: Brrains!
Bash bros starter gives you Hurricane Stone. You can get quite a few decent ones from shop as rare or uncommon. They are pretty plentiful. You need to farm for frost or buy it from the shop. They are very rare and relatively difficult to obtain. Chillwood Staff can be found quite easily at the goblin's bazzar, but its not optimal. The other good ones are all rare or legendary. Staff Of Winter and Frosty Staff the best out of the "full on frost" staffs in my opinion. You can wait for either/both to be sold in shop. As rares, their dont really cost that much. building the most optimal 3 wiz combos would probably require quite a bit of time due to how infrequent you find good frost items.
I asked jon_admin in chat a week ago, who said there was no problem using multiple accounts, as long as there is no hint of cross exploitation between the two.
Secondary accounts probably don't matter with the current game - no coop, no benefits to having friends et c. But if such features gets added then there'd be an issue, so I'd suggest sticking to the official written ruling no matter what, to avoid any issues. If people want to "try stuff out", they could always check the test servers. Edit: Might possibly matter in the future, but yeah - I'm wrong here.
I read the wall of text in the ToS while signing up for my in-game account and it didn't say anything forbidding multiples. It needs to be in there if it's a rule, not everyone comes to forums.
Pengw1n, those are the forum rules, not the game rules. They are stating that they will punish people for using sock puppet accounts.
Oh, that's cool then. Because I made more than one in-game account to try out the 50-pizza starter MP groups.
Heh, you're right. My reading comprehension just took a nose-dive. That's what you get for trusting your memory sometimes.
Not disagreeing with what other people have said, but just to lay it out: Whirlwind Enemies is easy to come by, just play the campaign until you've unlocked the higher level shop and then you'll have several common and uncommon arcane items with it to choose from. Bafflingly, Whirlwind is harder to get - for some reason that's only on rare+ items so you'll need to either get those in a drop or get lucky at Randimar's. Jotun covered your options for freezing staves pretty well, but that illustrates a point: you are going to have a lot more difficulty equipping three wizards than you would have equipping a mixed party. By limiting yourself to wizards only you're excluding two thirds of the equipment that you find, and yet you need three times as much.
Frankly, i personally don't even play wizards till i have a good frost staff or 2, which normally takes a while. Again, i personally won't touch a 3 wizard combo without having sunk 20-30 hrs into mp and gotten at least 4 or more of the good frost staffs. 3 mages packing WW/WWE/ITK/WoW + frost is a hilarious setup (even if you lose, your opponent's head might explode out of sheer frustration) , but they are the very very difficult to prep for.
The first thing is to be patient. Chillwood Staff is only lvl 15 uncommon, so it will turn up in goblin bazzar sooner or later Staff Of Winter & Frosty Staff are lvl 15 rare and will turn up in Randimar's for 100gp I don't think Goblin Bazzar carries items more than lvl 16. So I have being grinding the lvl 17 quests hoping for more Wand Of Seared Air . I need 9 of those
