I'm having the same issue in Chrome version 26.0.1410.64 m This is what I get in the Java console: Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/plain: "http://live.cardhunter.com/client/js/xdr.js". live.cardhunter.com:8 Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/plain: "http://live.cardhunter.com/client/js/swfobject.js". live.cardhunter.com:8 Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/html: "http://live.cardhunter.com/client/js/cardhunter_client.js". live.cardhunter.com:8 GET http://live-server.cardhunter.com:8080/check_maintenance.jsp jquery.min.js:5 sendjquery.min.js:5 b.extend.ajaxjquery.min.js:5 b.(anonymous function)jquery.min.js:5 checkMaintenancecardhunter_client.js:28 onloadlive.cardhunter.com:17
What happens if you try to directly load https://live-server.cardhunter.com/check_maintenance.jsp in your browser?
When I try to click the link or directly load it I get the "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to live-server.cardhunter.com:8080" page in chrome. Internet Explorer gets the same thing, "Cannot display the webpage"
I tried it at home last night and found that it seems to be my work PC that is having the issues. Both computers at home worked great. I'm guessing it's a problem with Javascript. Though i can't exactly see why. I guess I'll keep digging.
It sounds like your work computer or work network may be blocking connections to the ports used by the game server.
Can you tell me what ports they are so I can unblock them, is it just 8080? **Edit** Nevermind, I found them. I hate being sick, takes me a moment or two for the smarts to kick in. Thanks,
Well, I can now get to the login screen, but when i try to login i get "Connection failed. The server or your internet connection may be down. Please refresh the page and try to login again." I was so close. Anything else you can think of that is being blocked? **Edit** Fixed. I had put 9930 into the firewall rather than 9933. Thank you for your help!
This is a pretty old thread. Your best bet would be to start a new one, in Support, with all of the specifics mentioned.
Have a same problem. Ports 8080, 9930-9933, and 8443 are open. What to do? That looked promising for a minute. Are you behind a proxy or anything? Because http://live-server.cardhunter.com:8080/check_maintenance.jsp is setting "Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *" already. Those "Receiving end does not exist" errors are definitely abnormal. It looks like that's from Chrome. Correct?
This is now happening to me as well. I've been playing for the past week, and even earlier tonight with no problem. Now, I'm getting the same errors as above when looking at the java console. Not sure what changed in the last hour or two but I'm sad I can't play
Ahh, well that's relieving! Is there a place that downtime or server status is normally announced besides the main page feed?
I knew this time because there's always an announcement on the server when there is an upcoming planned shutdown. It would be nice if there were also an announcement on the forums.
