The title says it but i think there can be some problems with some decks - i made a new deck today - which wins 2/3 games i play, but i dont really enjoy playing it - its as almost as fun as nimbus spamming - round start nimbus, camp VP square, next round same - and this deck has the same feeling to it - its repetitive but effective - maybe its because i need to get used to this deck but can someone give examples of fun but effective decks?

    + 10 +?

  6. Confirmed. Plus maybe a wizard with a couple Mordecai's/Staff of Blazing Sparks and a bunch of Runestones, if you're into that sort of thing. Oh the humanity.
    Plus 10 or more?

I enjoy playing wizards. I had a party of a burning wizard + support/blasting wizard + buff/nimbus/finisher priest since way before it was popular. The little bits of utility that wizards have make me happy.

Classic Double Warrior + Support Priest

Fast, flexible and effective - Also a the best cardotron smasher team I've found which makes for MP easy chests during slow times on the server

This game is all about positioning and a good melee scrum is really where that shines. Knowing your opponents cards and positioning your characters to avoid and draw out blocks and attacks is really most critical part of the game. Most turns you have a good variety of choices. Do I rush over and try and pincer a lone character, pull back and camp the VP, bait them into committing to certain area of the map then dash away with pocket move cards?

Other teams can be effective but no where near as fun to play. I have a very effective blesscano contol build and savage burst wizard build but I only break them out on rare occasions to change things up. Feels too "cheap" a win sometimes to destroy enemies with lava spam or multiple fireballs for 10+ damage each.

I do enjoy using fire wizards as it is a bit more tactical with you often racing to burn out key opponent characters but it ends up depending on pulling armor removal or firestarter at the right time. Nothing worse then having nothing really effective to do in a turn with your team. Also, purging burst just ruins your fun way too often. Nothing like spending 3 cards for a couple point of damage to see it all purged. You can't easily come back from card disadvantage like that.

Good items yes, piles of legendary, not necessarily. Here's my main team build. I've been using this build statically for a couple weeks now and I figured I can post the tech here.

I've been hovering in the 1650-1700 range for quite some time with it even with my usual early resignation rate which keeps me in the 1550+ range at times:

    Penironlanc
    Level 10 Human Priest

    Kylven
    Level 20 Human Warrior

    Kurivarr
    Level 20 Dwarf Warrior

The secret sauce is Martyrs blessings, movement, and consistent damage. My build is different from some as it uses 6 Martyrs blessings on the priest to take advantage of the fact that the warriors are absolute beasts for damage consistency. Trading blows with them with a blessing is a critical mistake most times. They tend to draw into step attacks/moves as well when being pestered by range attacks. Many times I've taken a fireball to the face and proceeded to draw a team sprint allowing me to pincer and kill the offender.

The reason that Martyrs blessing is so much better now is that few people are packing huge hits since the Obl nerfs. In the past you could try this style of build only to die before you realize any serious card advantage from it. Many times I've approached with a blessed warrior, get hit with a mid damage attack, strike back(often blocked) and then get pounded by an oblit or two. Net result was the opponent warrior is still alive and your card advantage just got discarded along with your warrior. Now, you can almost guarantee a warrior will survive at least 3 rounds when trading blows. This allows him to kill an opponent and often dash away with a full hand ready to rush back in for a kill next round against an opponent who is out of attacks.

Yes, I do pack a fair amount of legendaries on my team but few that could not be replaced easily with rare or less items. Blenth's Skull and Strongarms are the only legendaries that add a noticeable boost in efficiency to the build. Aegis of the defender on all could also be difficult to acquire but can be replaced with parrying buckler for similar effect. Team sprint items can easily be replaced with lower rarity team dash items.

I think a similar team is very possible with rares and a couple epics. Olf's pike and shuddering relic on the priest gives a few less MF but that is not critical to the build. For the warriors you could go two humans with tough leather caps, perilous ringmail, perfect command, steel rimmed or parrying bucklers and diamond moccasins. Only epic I would recommend is blazing short sword as the tokenless weapon.

    Penironlanc
    Level 10 Human Priest

    Kylven
    Level 20 Human Warrior

    Kobowarr
    Level 10 Human Warrior

So, one epic on each character - Definitely build-able by most players after a week or two of playing. Well maybe a little longer as Randimars doesn't provide the huge number of rares that it used to.

If anyone tries it out and has success let me know!

I was toting one of these around for a while, but with the prevalence of fire attacks being thrown around, I found that drawing Combustible was costing me a lot of HP.

It's about the only tokenless non-legendary weapon which provides consistent damage. You'll need to sacrifice mobility cards on the warriors to free up 2 tokens otherwise. Mobility > risk of combustible IMO. Sometimes you draw it against fire wizards. Best bet is to stay at least 9 steps away and try and bait the wizards into approaching. You should have enough movement to keep out of range while forcing them to approach your other warrior. Nothing says bait like a combustible warrior. Try and use the handicap to your advantage.

Warrior, Warrior, Priest with as much team movement as possible. Priest uses purging and mass frenzy. Before the change, I would always have 5 team runs. Now I like using perfect command and bloody command. It's generally a fun team because you have big moves to decide on, and you have a chance against even a very lucky attachment draw.

Although, I have to say I have been using 1-1-1 teams and they are more fun now. There are a few things pushing me away from wizards. First, I absolutely hated WW and WWE, and they soured me on wizards altogether for a while. Second, I don't like the idea of buffing a burst wizard (no matter how effective), which limits my options. Third, I don't like the possibility of armor negating my attacks (resistant hide, grounding plates). But telekinesis is a fun card now. Gusts and Winds are still good. Punishing Bolt is fun (wish I had Heartripper) and can be frenzied along with a warrior.

Hehehe. Aegis is the best item currently in the game. Parrying buckler is very good compared to non-Aegis shields, but there is a huge gap between it and the Aegis. Especially with wizards being powerful now. And especially if you use multiple attachments. Since you are using lots of mass frenzy and martyr's blessing, plus altruism and blind rage, Defender's Block has extra synergy with your team since it may block high leverage purges. I would never recommend someone attempt a split of 6 martyr's blessings and 5 mass frenzy if they didn't have 3 Aegis. And you have the 3 best sprint team items (Bloody Command, Wenham's, Forrtescue's), which are all legendary and hard to replace.
