When you start a battle, you are asked "You must play a trait." but what if I don't want to? I have a the Spark Inductor trait but it only lasts 2 turns, so maybe I want to keep it to play later! There should be a skip button to let you move on without playing a trait card.

Traits are made to be have to played, part of how they're designed - this esp matters with negative traits (as to remove control). So no.

Oh, yeah I see. Didn't though about negative traits.
Also, are all Traits Cards having the Keep keyword? If so, if effectively make this suggestion invalid.

Traits don't have keep (as they don't return to your hand), as they need to be played - they can have durations however as you've noticed. Some drawbacks and boosts however can have keep and triggers from hand.

You must play a trait...Why? Why do I have to play a trait? I mean if traits have to be played why force the player to play them? Why not automatically play them? Same as auto target...speeds teh game up and avoids those moments where I click the attack I want to do and nothing happens...repeat three or four times before I realise I have a trait in another characters deck.

You can get multiple traits in a draw, which trait to play first can impact the outcome of the game.

One trait can override another and remember the rule of 3 when it comes to buffs/debuffs

However the concern about not realising you have to play a trait is valid.
When you draw traits, those cards should be highlighted, for example by being placed higher on the row of cards, so you can see them easily.

I totally agree must play trait is awfull and destroys tactical play.
If need be, change the trait names in to good and bad trait names,
and only bad traits is required to play, OR just make the bad(black)
traits the only traits you must play.

Getting 2 buff card for the same thing, knowing that tactical you
would save be wise to save one for later, but can't due to the must
play rule ...kinda ruins tactical play as your choice of what cards
to play/keep at certain times get much much easier.

In the long run I void bad traits, as I have experienced that they
ruin my play too much, when I had some.
Personally I would rather have an average item without, than
a more powerful item with 1+ bad traits, any day.

You forget that all traits make you draw another card, so effectivly grinding your deck.
I love positive traits, and try to get the maximum amount I can.
And I take some negative traits if the other cards are worth it, since I know its a "free" card in my deck, and will get me to the others faster.
I prefer a bad trait (not all, some are really nasty) over a useless junk attack or 6+ block every time of the day.

Yeah well my specification was a guideline, I try to avoid those cards with 6+ block too, lol.
(bad card, very bad block card ...go home where you came from:) )

Traits work exactly as intended and they should work the way they do. If you having to play a trait needs to be clearer i cant personally say as i have played too much and notice it instantly. But letting you save traits is a big nono as it not only ruins the logical nature of traits it also just makes them buffs that cantrip.
