I thought I'd make a list of cards that are generally considered to be too cheap misrated (either underrated or overrated). I think the game could do with a bit more balancing, so hopefully this can help the devs take the pulse on the community. This list can also help newer players find the skills that are considered bread and butter in the game right now. You guys can nominate cards and I'll put them on the list, until someone disagrees. Please write a couple of sentences why you think the card should be upped (bronze to silver, silver to gold et cetera). Card ---------------------- Proposed new value Demonic Feedback --------- Bronze Help The Weak ----------- Silver Resistant Hide ------------ Gold Purge ---------------------- Bronze
Demonic Feedback : increase from 'paper' to bronze (or maybe even silver). This card creates an immediate card advantage as well as allowing the player to draw cards on a particular character. It's a very powerful effect which is shared by Unholy Power (a gold card), and has similar utility value to Inspirational Thinking (a green card). The self-inflicted damage from Demonic Feedback is a significant drawback, but nevertheless I think it's compares favourably to Unholy Energy and Inspiration - which are both silver cards. Help The Weak : increase from bronze to silver. The healing from this card is more than from Heal - which is a silver card - and although Help The Weak has the disadvantage of not allowing the player to choose the target, the automatic selection of target is usually acceptable; and it comes with the great advantage of not requiring line-of-sight. In my view Help The Weak is superior to both Heal and Healing Blessing - which are both silver cards. Resistant Hide: increase from silver to gold This card provides a respectable reduction in physical damage in addition to complete immunity to two damage types commonly used by wizards. It isn't easy to directly compare it to other cards, but I think it's fair to say it is of similar quality to Grounding Plates, and that it's prevalent usage in wizard decks suggests that it is underrated. Incidentally, I reckon Resistant Hide is better than Enchanted Mail - which is a green card. But I think that's more to do with Enchanted Mail being overrated - after all, Enchanted Mail is only marginally better than Reliable Mail - which is a silver card. Purge: increase from paper to bronze Obviously this card is very situational. It can be completely useless if the opposing team isn't using any attaching cards, but on the other hand it can sometimes be game-changing. Using Purge to remove things like Impenetrable Nimbus or Entangling Roots can have a critical impact on the game; but even the relatively low value of removing the burning from Flame Spit or the healing from Healing Blessing is a greater impact that many bronze cards - and it's worth remembering that Purge can be used to remove multiple cards at once. -- That's all for now, maybe I'll have more later on. (By the the way, there are a few cards that I think are over rated by the game - including Lateral Thinking and Barge. Perhaps this thread could be about misrated cards rather than only underrated cards.)
Nice contribution karadoc. The thread can be about misrated cards, but I am not sure how to change the topic. Just write them up however and I will include them on the list.
We can add to this old thread: https://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/feedback-cards-with-an-over-underrated-card-quality.2892/
I think that old thread is a good reference but I'd rather build on this one rather than continue with the other one. Some of the cards mentioned in the old thread have changed since that was posted, and since there wasn't any explanation given for most of the suggested changes in that thread it is not easy to discuss whether they are good suggestions or whether they are still relevant.
A very nice list, I almost agree to all of it. I'll keep this one going as well then, since explainations is useful both for the evalutation process, and for reference if the list will be used for balancing. I hope the devs will address this issue soon, as it is my opinion that a lot of cards are misrated. The pvp becomes a bit too much of a game of stacking up the «value for money cards», which makes the viable pvp setups more limited than what the game promises.
