For my wife and I, a 16:10 and 16:9 version at a high resolution would be nice. Probably would just need three version, the two I just mentioned and a 5:4. For real numbers: my wife has 1440x900 and I have a 1680x945... well and our media center pc on our tv is at 1920x1080. What does everyone else need?
5760x1080 for me 1920x1080 seems to be the most common screen size in america right now. 1680x1080 is prolly the most common in europe
By my scientific analysis (i.e., loading up the calculator program), this is what you get if you make three sides of a box out of 1920x1080 displays and stick your face in the middle. You never have to acknowledge the rest of the world exists. In other news, I would like to object to the inability to nest quotes automatically. I had to wrangle the above by hand.
lol no, i have 3 monitors hooked up in cohesion. Makes it easier in first person shooters when i can see much farther left and right to catch that dirtbag trying to cap me just over my shoulder. Well . . . there's a lull in conversation, so how about I post something critical to inflame the passions? Compare: Link to front page image Link to wallpaper I feel that the front page, with all its clutter, looks better than the prepared background. It's a matter of composition. The front page has the big box (with animated delights such as the Attack of the War Monkeys cover) filling the center, with content and thematic elements (game cutouts and general gaming material) spreading out from the sides. When we remove the big box so that we can view the uninterrupted glory of the board, what do we get? Two identical Kobold Miners and a d20. It's not very interesting: the majority of the visual interest is on the sides, where most people will want to put their icons. Had I the choice, I would slide the camera over to the left corner of the board, rotate the pieces to keep good facing, and re-photograph in a more game-like "isometric" view. This would put more of the interesting elements in the middle, with the dragon looming overhead. Since a redo is impossible by now, one could also keep the original big box in the middle, but put something nice and representative in it that would look good on everyone's desktop. There you go, I have now done my community service for the day by complaining about a free product. Biting the hand that fed me; a beggar trying to be a chooser; et cetera. You may commence flaming me.
Yeah, you are probably right. The shot was originally taken for the front page and not designed to be a wallpaper. The problem with re-shooting it is - where are the pieces? We sent them over to Canada (from the UK) to Kert so that he could shoot the preview trailer. I think he sent them to me (in Australia) but I'm not sure. I'll drop him a line and try to find out where they are now.
