I just started playing. I realize the non-cosmetic items are regular in-game items. Value wise, what should I try to buy before the store goes away? I'm currently level 6. Any general tips for a newcomer? I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the items and cards. How do you "farm" quests without locking yourself out? I'm guessing I should buy the 25 dollar package? I don't plan on doing MP. Will I quickly run out of things to do in single player? Thanks!
This is a great thread to look into for the Halloween Shop. There a lot of farming threads as well - but it all depends on if you're looking to use sp, mp or both. People are usually very eager to be helpful. (if you're looking to grind - just don't complete the last map. You won't get xp this way or loot from the last map, but the adventure won't lock) The SP campaign is pretty lengthy (around 50 adventures) - and opens up a new game plus sort of mode after completion (challenging quests with optional setups et c). The Basic Edition is great, gives you access to the 11 Treasure Hunts - as well as extra loot from the club. On top of the sp, there is the custom content, mp as well as any new content the devs are currently working on.
My advice for when you're level 6, you're going to slam face first into a wall when you get to the Trog fights, because they're the first real exercise of deckbuilding and trying to form a strategy to deal with a specific obstacle. But don't be discouraged. Keep a sharp eye out for gear that can help you in the regular shops; Things with the Penetrating keyword are great, and attacks with a Step component will help you maneuver to the Trog's backside where the armor can't trigger. Also, make generous use of Frenzy buffs to power these attacks up, especially if you only have one warrior; You want to squeeze as much value out of your penetrating attacks as possible. If you do decide to get the Basic Edition (or just treasure hunts in general), Woodhome's Wound from the Lv6 Treasure hunt is also a great asset for killing trogs.
I just met the trogs you were talking about. It was down to a 1v1 vs a bigger trog and my wizard. The trog won. I have a decent weapon setup on my warrior, but the trogs are exploding him before I can unload a lot of damage. As far as being useful, my priest seems to very hit-or-miss.
Thanks for the info! I picked up a Black Cat Buckler. It seems pretty nice for the cost. I also got the basic edition. I think it's money well spent. I've been playing a lot the past few days.
Priests sort of suck before you get items with Mass Frenzy on them, bigger heals or divine weapons with good attacks - they are pretty weak at level 6 unless you've been really lucky with priest loot. As for running out of things to do as a single player only player, it depends how much you enjoy loot farming. I've played roughly 100 hours by now and that includes only one 10 min pvp match. Still have plenty of stuff I enjoy to do.
