What kind of strategies do you guys use?

Just curious as to what strategies are common in MP. Mine is the old reliable 2 human warriors, 1 elf priest. One warrior is a crusher, the other one a spearman. I don't often see dedicated spearmen in MP, but that actually works to my advantage since they never see an Impaling Stab to the back coming. I've beaten rank 1500+ people with this because they never expect it. The crusher focuses on bludgeons, nothing special, and the priest is a healer with some good attacks mixed in, which some people also don't expect. I don't have very many good MP items yet, but I think I'm doing good for now.

Elf Priest is certainly an interesting approach, we don't see a lot of those around. How are you finding it?

I've been running Warrior/Warrior/Priest since beta, with various races at different times. I'm currently running two nearly identical elf warriors and a human priest. I tend to focus on mobility and consistent damage over giant attacks or tech builds (though I do have a Barge and a Dodge floating around, but don't tell anyone :p). I quite enjoy it. I tend to avoid wizards in MP, just because I find the things they are best at the most aggravating to play against, and don't want to do that to other people. Once in a great while a run a three Elf wizard team, just to do something unexpected.

I'm still working on the elusive 1/1/1 build that can win consistently. Maybe with a burning wizard this time. I'll find it someday....

I basically have him so that I can get victory points. He also focuses on healing and strong attacks. So far, he's kinda frail, and I'm thinking of trying a human priest instead.

My Burning Wizard/Support Wizard/Support Priest build has given me a nice 1500ish rating. Have played around with Warrior/Warrior/Priest in triple duel map, but I frankly find that approach boring. I was always the blue player in Magic the Gathering. :)

My strategy is called kill, KILL, KILL! AKA the Thundercats... It is actually quite a similar build which I copied from someone I played against a few times when I kept getting shocked that he had so many impaling stabs, getting a blazing shortsword really opened it up.
I miss when I first started playing MP seriously and level 18 items were tough to come by and having a hammer priest (2 Glinting Eye Hammer) which surprised every one with the Mighty beatdowns he could dish out. Now people see that coming, although I might bring it back for the Healing Rays for the self target ability, 2 6point heals is Very nice, even if Raging strike is VERY dangerous.
I also have a few others I tinker with based on Wizard play. one w/ 3 wiz the other with 2 wiz 1 priest (which has become my go to for Roll Out the Barrels) I have a lot of good wiz stuff even if I am still I little handicapped when it comes to wiz play (things like 2 Skull of Savage Ilkin, 2 Red Flame, a Heartripper an Illusion, 2 staff of Chask (a former favorite), some of the better legendary burning arcane items, etc.) but managing LoS hurts my head and hurts my hand when using Laptop.
I have a good 1-1-1 in mothballs, if the announced changes go through basically as is it could be an immediate winner (buff priest w/ the occasional nasty surprise, combo warrior (spear and heavy hit) and a damage wiz). being able to use Mass Frenzy with Wiz (even if it is only for 1) would max out flexibility.

With 2 warriors having human skills on the priest is nice. Nothing like a turn 1 Sprint, Team against a 3 wiz team.

  10. I have 2 human warriors and a Dwarf wiz. It's tricky because typically these races don't get alot of movement, but my wizard has pretty good range so movement is not an issue for him it's getting my warriors where they need to be. One is a spearman and the other is a heavy damager. Both have helms and boots that allow for small damgae movement to compensate for not having alot of solid moves. I find this to be quite effective. My warriors also have attribute moves that boost regular moves as well and it's also a big help. While sitting on a victory square isn't too hard with decent armor and good counter push I tend to be the offensive force and just eliminate one or two of your party and then chill on the VS for the remaining 2 turns. I usually lose one character but I always take one of yours with me so there's always a cost in every action

For the dawn of ages, I have always run Eragon, the fighting vampire elf priest. For the other two I have a human priest and a human wizard. ]
The wizard is a focused burning wizard, but he uses a TON of legend/epic items.
The Human Priest is sheerly for buffing, mass frenzy, heals, purge, ect

The Elf Priest is the anchor of the team, he's the one going fighting. It works really well but is just terrible against people who spam Obliterating Bludgeon.
