Volcano does not produce lava or have duration

I have a Volcano card as part of the Staff of Blazing Embers. I hovered over it and it illuminated the squares under the characters as expected.

Triggered it and... nothing happened. I was expecting some lava to appear and stay for duration 2 as per the card. The bad guys moved as normal, even onto a new square that should have been lava'd.

Am I getting this card wrong somewhere?

 

Can confirm this the volcano spell doesn't seem to work at all

 

Just ran into this myself, but the items they are on are just too good lol.. Will have to keep it on till they fix it.
