Visual indication of an item's rarity at a glance

Currently you have to mouse over an item to see its level and rarity. It would be helpful to quickly identify items on your characters that are getting a bit behind in power if you could at a glance see which items were lower level or more importantly the rarity of each of the items.

Maybe a simple color coded backdrop that draws first? like common would draw nothing, uncommon would draw a greenish background coat of arms, rare blueish, epic pinkish.

The level might be indicated by the complexity of the coat of arms. Like the higher the level the more little bits will be around the edge.

Levels and rarity doesn't mean much. There are common items better then Legendary ones and you have to use both low and high level items caus you can't have enough tokens to use high level equips only.

Yeah I realize that but its also a visual measure of how well equipped your character is. Like when you look at your character sheet in Diablo the items are color coded to their rarity and power.

It is not, I have to agree with the Squid here.
    A character well-packed with legendaries isn't "well-equipped".

I actually support this suggestion. That has very little to do with how powerful items are depending on their rarity, but rather a simple issue of more easily navigating your collection and quickly find what you're looking for.

Sometimes you don't remember an item's name/icon, you only know you had this piece of gear of a given rarity that you're looking for. Pin-pointing an item in a huge collection can be a lengthy and tedious process, and that's despite all the filters already implemented. The interface can really help more visual clues.

I think I made this same suggestion months ago. One possible solution could be coloring an item's outline according to rarity (common items = blueish outline, epics = purplish outline, etc)

The same goes with tokens-cost, although I guess the line between a functional, tidy interface and a visual mess is easily crossed.
