We've had a couple threads about this (which I can't find now), discussing whether players should be able to see what items their opponent is using. I think the current situation is awkward because you either have to slow down animations or click to dismiss every card your opponent plays, in addition to memorizing what cards are on every item.
I selected option c, or 3 if you will - however, I think being able to view anyone's party outside of the actual battle would be ok.
...If they are shown in the log, someone is going to come along and write a deck builder/probability script. I think the real question is how do we feel about that.
It's entirely possible. I can see it being whole lot easier when you can pull text from the log. If you are going the low-fi/quicker, easier route of entering the data by hand as a human into a separate running app, it's much simpler to be looking at the log than slowing the play way down to read the card as it animates.
I don't want to see the items during the fight because the first few minutes people will look through each other decks making the game slow and predictable. I would like to see their deck/items AFTER the fight, to see what I was dealing with and what items they had.
cards should not be visible in logs imo. even discarding cards. this way MP battle will be more interesting not knowing your opponents cards until its too late.
