So, after beating SP a couple weeks ago, I went back with another party, to see how it compared. Obviously, it was considerably easier. I had some great items and so was able to really steamroll pretty well through the campaign. Now, I haven't played long enough to play through the account wipes, but I'm looking at going live as a bit of an educational experience. How much do items matter, and how much does skill? Looking at SP mostly here, I never played enough MP to really make a comparison. So just curious about the thoughts of those that have been through it, and I'm looking forward to some more good times with this game
I'd say that a combination of skill and knowing what you are facing make the most difference to the single player campaign. Having finished the campaign I went back with a new party keeping a list of all the items that I received from defeating adventures and used only these (I don't think I bought anything from the shops either). I definitely found it easier the second time through, although a number of balance changes were made in the time between the two playthroughs.
Yeah those 1HP, man they did my head in. So much luck involved = most frustrating. But also incredibly satisfying when you beat them
