Splitting this off from this thread that got a bit off topic:https://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/peasant-tournament-final-standings.5022/ This thread is designed to talk about the future of tournaments and competitive play in Card Hunter. Such as wish lists, long term features, and other ideas. Discuss!
I think having an automated system like what was done in WarCraft III on Battle.net would be interesting (http://classic.battle.net/war3/ladder/w3xp-tournament-info-tournamentrules.aspx). Essentially there is a set time given in advance where people can queue up in a special tournament queue. It matches people up randomly and then bases it on a Swiss-format. These last for 3 hours or so, with the finalists having another hour or two of matches.
So.. is this the built-in tournament thingy that BM may or may not implement at some point? Or is this something else?
You could probably set it up to work with the API and custom scenarios. The tool would select a map and generate an appropriate title (with some kind of random identifier string) which it would then watch for in the API.
It is for any discussion on tournament or competitive play that would take a decent amount of time for Blue Manchu to implement. That's all.
