Tonight I was playing MP: my warrior had surestrike blessing attached, and attacked my opponent's character with either laser strike or anvil strike + all out attack. The target had cushioning armor, and the result was 5 damage. Is that the way it's supposed to work? Because it seems to be not what the text on the relevant cards would indicate: penetrating attacks ignore armor, surestrike blessing makes your next melee attack unblockable and penetrating -- so, the attack should have ignored the damage-reduction ability of cushioning armor and done full damage. Right?
It definitely sounds like a bug. I just tested it (using a Strong Hack without AOA), and it worked as it should. If you can duplicate it in a casual game and copy and post the battle log it could help the devs isolate it. Intermittent or situational bugs can be hard to isolate.
The bug as I see it: Anvil Strike does not take the penetrating property from Surestrike Blessing or Frenzy Aura. It does not matter whether the target is next to blocking terrain or not. Frenzies seem to work correctly. This bug is also mentionned in this post (although it does not speak about Surestrike Blessing). I could not find any problems with Laser Strike. It ignores Cushionning Armor as expected when Surestike Blessing is used.
