I'd love to see a prebuilt league in the rotation where your party has Level 18 HP (dwarf warrior 33 down to elf mage 17), but can only equip tokenless items. This league would encourage the use of lesser-played cards and make VP control even more important than it is right now. Sure, a player could load up on dwarf warriors, armour and Strongarms, but they'd be vulnerable to terrain (especially acid), bashes and barges, and control spells. Elf mages would be more playable, as they could no longer be obliterated by one or two buffed cards. Thoughts?
For sure. Love to see the oft-neglected items dusted off and given their chance to shine I feel this would encourage more creativity, also, whether in a league or separately, maybe if this contributed to guild ranking points! So that, players don't just have to be skilled in mp / be able to build a bejewelled warrior team , but also be skilled at using the simple cards in creative and unique ways to contribute to their guild. Although logistically, it would need to be a league open all the time so as not to exclude plqayers in different time zones. Taking things a step further. perhaps have more leagues like this which may or may not contribute to guild ranking. Sorta like a guild / league pentathlon! Witha core of, say, QD - temple Golden Shrine pauper league - various maps ... The key would be, to limit players to say, 3 games per day,. Alhough, personally, I am scared at implementing this idea, as I would then probably spend all day playing CH. No that's it! Limit players to say, 5 games each, for each of the respective pentathlon leagues, per month!
What aboout "only handicaps" league instead? Or a league where you "have to" use a specific item. (one for wiz, war and priest) ...maybe an item from a current daily deal... Only "one character" league. (or two) I am still looking forward to a "peasant" league (only common and uncommon) ...so many possibilities...
The trouble with peasant is that it'll turn into a worse Cult of the Bejewelled than is already happening.
