Like many other veteran players, I've reached the point where opening those little gold chests just doesn't do anything for me anymore. I'm not likely to get anything out of these chests other than 8-12 gold worth of items, maybe more. Which is really depressing since they tend to drop great little items that I could have used once upon a time (Solid Rock, Double-Edged Sword, Hexagon shield, etc etc) but not now when I have 9 of everything. So my suggestion is, can we add an option to convert 5 Mag. chest for 1 epic chest? Cause at this point I would rather give the gold chests away to new players than open them.
5 gold chests vs 1 Epic should yield about the same number of epics/legendary items. The chance for an item to be of a higher level is 20% or so AFAIK. Oh wait, MC is only one guaranteed rare and EC is 2 guaranteed epics. You'd need to do 10-1 to have around the same conversion rate. I do agree that gold chests are pretty meh for advanced players. I don't even look at the contents before selling unless I see a purple or gold animation. Not even that useful for gold building as chests do not contain treasure items.
I still get gold chests from leagues. I usually lose some gold on the exchange, but sometimes something nice falls out. If BM builds an 'Upgrade' button to be used on a stack of 8 or 10 gold chests I'd be surprised. But I'd use it.
I would trade 10 Magnificent Chests for 1 Epic Chest. And if someone tells me that's never going to happen, I'm just going to have to start begging Jon to donate them for me.
