[Suggestion] Pay 2 Epee

    The What:
My suggestion is for a set of adventures (similar to the Treasure Hunts) that are designed to be so difficult they will reward an inventory filling unusable “golden Epee” (the sword kind - not to be confused with a euphemism for an internet trope to do with gloating…. or is it.) Golden Epee’s would represent a degree of expertise (or sheer luck) unsurpassed by any other card hunter reward.

    Now as to why:
Having completed the main campaign I never found the urge to pay Treasure Hunt quests as their rewards (additional items) were not as much interest to me as the challenge of new adventures.

Although I now have unlocked the quest challenges– I feel I want something new (mechanics wise or story wise). I have a need for challenges that are totally new and highly difficult to complete, with probabilities of 1% or less when using average items. Challenges that use wild mechanics and cause epic frustration only due to the sheer point of: “I asked for it”. I want to screenshot my completion of such impossible tasks and gloat at a digital ranking of how “good” I am/am not.

After further consideration I thought “You know what, I would pay to have the opportunity to indulge my electronic ego”. And now I post.

Either such difficult maps would be based on random chance for the difficulty (One enemy with Penetrating attacks and a KEEP Block All with 2 roll requirement that is either immune to discard or attached to his default move so always re-drawn), or they are based on overly specific mechanics (which means a formula for winning deck can be posted on the forums, completely removing the "elite" sense of winning, and just making the trophy a check-off that you own a specific set of items).

I suppose it could be that the enemy deck is randomized and contains only the absolute best of all equipment in the game. But without selecting the items to compliment one another, random decks aren't THAT impressive, so the trophy would mean "yipee, my AI got a crappy deck!" more than "I rock!"

Best equipment in the game? Mom is easy to beat though :)

I guess what I am getting at is this: "I will pay for a PvE endgame that is not 'collecting equipment' "

Perhaps increasingly difficult random encounters - a ranking ladder of how many can be completed with only 3 retries.
Or a PvE ladder that resets all mission completion status, equipment earned and character levels every month (perhaps the top 100 at the end of the month winning a unique "ladder" Costume <--- I mean literally your team would be dressed like ladders).

Perhaps slightly randomized decks, as in, the decks themselves are not randomized, but which ones you will face are, so you can't prepare for every single scenario, but have to adapt to the one you're given. Basically, a test of your ability to make an all around strong deck and adapt to an opponent.

While I'm not sure that this is exactly what I would want added, I do agree that there needs to be some kind of incentive for PvE players to keep paying. Blue Manchu shouldn't be turning away an income stream. There was more discussion of this over here.
