erm, this spawned because map comments appeared in the wiki thread recently. I realize we don't have a section for map discussion. Also, resources seem to be somewhat scattered and finding it difficult to find threads of relevance. I think its mainly due to a much larger playerbase now compared to beta. So proposing a wee bit of re-structuring. New sections: PVP Map rotation ? Discuss maps here, duh Re-organization: Card Hunter Chat, Gameplay, and Strategy to split into a) Card discussion - Discuss cards here, duh b) Item discussion - Discuss items here, duh Pull anything that's a resource into say, c) Fan-made resources section ? So, counting off my head here... wiki, faqs progammer's inferior items list turin's spreadsheet item drop thread maybe ? etc Any player run tournaments should have its own section: Tournaments - Host, organize, discuss tournament here, duh...yeah, Peasant could go here. The rest of the forum can stay as is... Tots? edit: I'm not great with naming those sections, so duh...
Well, CHCG&S encompasses far more than just card and item discussions... I think it's a stretch to classify, say, the Gotcha! Rules FAQ as merely card discussion. And what about discussion on the AI, questing, gold-farming, etc.
Agreed...CHCG&S could be retained for anything that doesn't fall under the rest.... sorta like a General Discussion section. I think Gotcha Rules FAQ could classify under fan-made resources/game resources. It would be easier for a newcomer to browse help, faq, player made sheets/data etc... all in one place. Oh, nice point about AI, quest...I missed that...maybe another section for Adventures and Quests only ?
I'm always loathe to dissect the forum into too many subsections, but one where people can go directly to get help with maps is a good idea. A little re-org should help.
With existing forums in XenForo? Akin to pulling my spine out of my body through my navel. Yes, it's possible but holy moly would it be a bit of a pain.
Looks like I *just* pulled my spine out through my navel and it wasn't painful at all! But now I can't sit up straight.
Any chance of migration ? Or its not your call to make ? Xenforo worked while the game was in development but now that its officially released, maybe time for a re-think ?
Actually, XenForo is really nice. It just behaves a bit differently compared to some other forum software I'm used to (like vBulletin), which tends to make some things trickier and other things easier. But now that I realize that you can set categories and they act like parent forums and sub-forums it all works out.
Understood, any chance of changing the default skin to one of Ben's cool art ? Dunno, background could use an upgrade, fresh coat of paint...gah, I'm derailing this thread.
